Would HID lights look good on a GT?

I'm confused. The HID lights are nice, but are they only for headlights or foglights as well? If you drive with both heads and fogs on (like I do) and the head lights are HID, wouldn't that ruin the symmetry between the two lights?

i say, get the CDC Billet Aluminum Grille and get the HID's. plus the HID's are so friggin bright as they are, you probably wont even need the fogs. but yea, if u do swap out the old halogens on the reg headlights and not the fogs, there will be a contrast but like i said, u prob wont even use the fogs anymore

a

In my personal opinion the yellow fog lights makes the overall appearance
so i suggest that you get HID all around...

and by the way, I have HID in both fog lights and headlights and the fog lights are brighter

yeah.. i have stock HID's (white) and stock fogs (yellow)... they don't look good together. too cheap to go HID fogs, but i'll probably end up upgrading the fog bulbs to a higher temp halogen to match.

Do you have any nighttime pictures of the factory HID setup with the fogs on? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

It won't match. I tried...

Just man up and get the HID lights for the fogs.

Will be interesting to see. What kit did you get for the fogs?

Not too bad but maybe some silverstars in the fogs?

That does look kind of strange, because with the front markers, you have a total of 3 different color lights up front... I would either drive around with the fogs off, or go with HID's for them as well. Kits can be found on Ebay for ~$150 I believe.

Think the main problem is that the fogs are up at top and as large around as the headlights. If you look at pretty much all luxury cars with hids and fogs the fogs are halogen or some form of yellower/white output. Its just doesnt stick out as much since they are pushed lower on the car and smaller.

Thanks for the pics Steve. I really don't like the symmetry between the lights, but the HID's do look really nice. Would silverstars in the fogs actually do the trick, or is an HID fog kit the way to go?

No idea. I'm going to try out some higher temperature halogens on the fogs first and see how it turns out... I hate the mismatch too. Then, if that doesn't work, I'll probably try the ebay HIDs like titan suggested.

Oh, not only is it ugly, when I drive with them on, everyone REALLY thinks I have high beams on (I guess they assume the yellow = driving lights and glaring white = high beams). I've been flashed twice since I got this car last Thursday..

HIDs used to be ultra expensive, and the Ford HIDs don't even use aspherical projector optics which is why they're so inexpensive.

LEDs actually put out a LOT more light when it's cold outside, so at night in the summer and at night in the winter, they're going to be more than adequate. They aren't affected by vibration or shock or even moisture. As an interim solution, HIDs are pretty appealing to most people. I'll stick with halogen until LEDs hit the market.

that is definitely an option to wait. for most waiting a few years is way too long! haha

HIDs just look so much better than halogens and use less watt...and its almost pocket change to get it now.

do you know who sells LEDs now? if so how much? $1000+?

i did a search on google and i cant find anyone. thanks!
