Hey All!
As some of you may have read in my other threads, I'm working closely with a dealer in the LA area, Galpin Ford, who are starting their own speed shop ala Roush/Saleen/Shelby. I wanted to put a feeler out to see what you guys would like to see for our cars that hasn't been done yet, or hasn't been done RIGHT yet. I can't guarantee that we'll pursue every idea, but we are going to try and do some cool stuff. Here are a few ideas I've put on the table so far:
Targa Top
Backlit Shift ****
More Subtle "eleanor" style chin spoiler and ducktail.
Comments on these, and new suggestions welcome. I'd like to hear things you guys would actually want to see made so you can buy them, not just cool ideas for a show car.
To ease your mind on their abilities, here's some Galpin history:
*Introduced america to Sun Roofs. Proved to be such a popular dealer accessory that Ford made it a factory option
*Saved the Mustang convertible in the early 80's. After it was discontinued by Ford, Galpin made custom Mustang convertibles. Ford was so impressed, they brought it back into production.
*Have been doing dealer customs for 30+ years. see http://www.galpinized.com Some of their creations that have gone global: Full Size Conversion Vans in the 70's, with custom paint, carpeting, wood paneling, even fireplaces. LIfted 4x4 Trucks with suspension kits and big knobby tires.
Please note, this isn't an advertisement. I'm not paid by Galpin. I've just been able to work with contacts to establishment a relationship with them, and I want to give them some honest feedback of what the community would like to see. They are just as excited about the new stang, and modding it, as we are!

Ducktails.....
Different colored leather interiors.....
Better shifters(ala Roush).........
Retro Rims........
60s style badging- ala boss 302 or the gt 350 and 500s......
Retro exterior colors........
This is absolutely stupid in the age of fuel injection but I would love a brand new car with a carburetor.

I'm with everybody on the ducktail..... make one that looks a little better.... not so cheap. If they have to build a new rear bumper cover to mate up properly with a ducktail, then do it.
I'm not impressed with any of the front bumper covers that came out at SEMA... Something that doesn't look so ricey... with the suggestion about the Eleanore bumper cover.... if they could possibly build one that has the split bumper. I know it would entail puting a new bumper behind the cover, but, if people are willing to pay.... why not?
I'd like to see quarter window louvers that are inset, instead of struck to the glass with 3M 2 sided tape..... like this:

Hey 2slack.... that's what I want to see more than anything, but I'm not sure if they can do that yet.... I think Kevin or Brad or someone said they thought that Ford was reserving that one (possibly for the Cobra oe an SE) and that's why we didn't see it at SEMA
BUT, if not... then yes.... let's get one made.... make us all happy
