Anyone have a problem with their windows going down on their own after you shut the car off ,get out and then close the door???
Never has done it before , it just did it , and of course its raining !!
I tried the callibration tech in the owners manual and It still dont work!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!11[SIZE=7]

Both windows or just one of them? It may be related to the reason that Ford deactivated the feature that allows you to roll down the windows with the remote transmiter. I know this does'nt help much. Maybe some of the more tech savy people on here can help you.

There are two different calibrations to try in the manual (based on whether the windows won't go up all the way, or if they're stuck down)... did you use the right one?

I'm guessing you have one of the earlier builds... that sounds like the global window issue (well, the reason Ford disabled it). The windows have a tendency to get a mind of their own.

It's only happend to me once... and haven't seen it again.

Thanks for the responses. Yes its both windows . The car was built early October of 04. 3015 miles, not driven much. I didnt realise there were 2 calibration techniques, i will have to see if i can find the other one. Man is my car getting wet inside, leather interior!!!!

Yes it is active. Now that the rain has stopped so has the problem. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

rain is definately not the reason for it. Anyway, try calibrating them and if that does not work your sensor might be shot. I recall someone posting a while back they had the same problem and FORD had to replace the module.

If you have one of the earlier cars with the anti-theft system, yes, you can roll the windows down by holding down the unlock button on the remote. Unfortunately you can't roll them back up with the remote. You need to either use the window switches on the inside of the car or place the key in the drivers door lock and hold it in the lock position. I wish I could roll them up with the remote. That way I wouldn't have to run outside in the rain to do it.

Do they go all the way down, or just an inch or so? If they go down just a little bit, it might have to do something with the short drop feature.

Are you so sure that rain is not the reason? In fact rain is the exact reason that ford gave for disabling the remote open windows. The problem is that when you open the door in the rain, something gets wet that causes the windows to malfuntion.

I'm pretty sure because I have the global feature and my car is my daily driver. Have yet to have my windows roll down while washing the car, opening the door during the rain, etc etc.

Same here. No problems at all.

In fact this is the only car I've heard of that has actually had the problem Ford described.

The problem is, what doesn't make sense with the "Water getting on the switch makes the windows roll-down" is. When you hold down the button it's sending a signal from the Active-Theft hub/box whatever you want to call it, to the window to roll the window down. IF water got on the switch with this feature disabled what's the difference, compared to just pressing the window button with the car off.??

UNLESS with the anti-theft (global window feature) there's power going to the power windows all the time, and with it disabled there's no power.

Man that probably won't make sense

Hi again. Yes i can roll the windows down with the key fob. Now the windows just go down periodically. They went down onnce yesterday and then again overnight. Its driving me crazy!!! The dealer cant take the car till monday so i wonder if i should take the fuses out?? Thanks for the replys.

Stangnut, no i do not keep the keys in my pocket. I even locked the 2 key fobs in a safe in the basement to see if they were sending a signal. The issue is not with the key fob :bang: :scratch:

I just checked the car and the windows did not go down overnight. It has been 2 1/2 days since the rain and what ever got wet (moisture laden) has obviously dried. Sounds like a moisture problem to me!! I would like the dealer to disconnect this feature (global windows) as it is useless anyway. My .02
