Thumbs up

Even though my Mustang is still in a million pieces, I'm curious to find out if burnt cd's will actually play in the standard cd player. I know that sometimes this is a problem depending on several factors (brand of cd player, type of software used, etc). Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mine does fine......it is less selective than my 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII was at playing the burned CD's. No problems yet! Good Luck.

I'm in the same situation, does anyone with a 2005 Mustang without a Shaker know the answer to the question?

To answer the question, yes. The standard stereo does play burned CDs. I read this thread yesterday and thought I would give it a try and behold it played Cds burnt from my computer. Played a little old school Cure on the 05 sterio and it was just fine. Hope that helps.

The 05 has a mp3 player, which lets you play 1200 songs in one cd. U just have to burn it as a Data cd.

If you got THAT many songs on one disc, they would either be REAL short per song, or would sound like total crap. Only way to get decent quality, not even good is to go 128 kbps.

No man, try it out for yourself. Try burning your songs in one cd as a DATA CD(holds 700mb of data) not an Audio Cd(only holds 15-18 songs). The quality is good trust me

Even if you only had 700 songs on the cd, each song would have to be 1mb. on average a song in mp3 format is 5mb. plan on 150-200 songs per cd.

Does anyone know if the Shaker mp3 player reads the songs by folders, like media player? Would be great!
Happy Trails!!

Even my 03 GT mach 460 plays burned cd's, there should be no problem as long as your CD burner is a +/- burner.

Minimum quality I am willing to compress the songs to is 256k and I usually get around 100 songs on the CD. I can tell the difference if I compress to 128k, so I stick with 256k.

Back on track with this. The STANDARD CD player will play burned AUDIO CD's.
It will NOT play MP3 CD's. The Shaker's are the only ones that will play MP3's

Please pardon the southeastern "A-hia" accent. :worship:

In these hills, we like to say "burnt" instead of "burned."
