Why I get frustrated with Ford

Called again today for the um-teenth time to check my status. The car was put on a railcar on the 21st thanks to the expedite from my Zone Rep.
I called on Friday and all I could get was it is on a rail car.
I called this AM and got "It's on a rail car" [must be the answer du jour].
I told him that it was supposed to be at the Chicago ramp last Friday.
He looked a little further and told me it arrived at the ramp on 6/30 [why he did not tell me that to begin with is unknown].
I asked him to call the ramp and he said I do not know if we have the number [B.S. and I knew it]. I told him I know you have the phone number for ramp 4T ; can you give it to me. He miraculously found the number and put me on hold. It wasn;t 15 seconds and he came back on and told me that all the loads were gone for the day and that my car would be here Wed.
If I had not pushed the situation, I would still be thinking that the car was on a rail car.
I have been complaining about Ford's communication with dealers for years now.
Maybe some day pigs will fly!

I love it. Ed, you and I will receive our cars within minutes of each other after both were built on what? June 6th, 2006? I got an email from my dealer, the carrier has the car there now and they're looking to deliver it to the dealer Wed/Thur.

The Brothers Diablo RIDE!

Well.... soon. (I purchased grabberorange.net, BTW...)

I was told by a guy at the railyard here, that once a car comes in, it has to be delivered to the dealer within 48 hrs of arrival, not counting weekends and holidays. Thanks to a little bird, I actually knew my car had arrived at the ramp before my cousin, who is the Fleet Manager, knew. He called his guy at the ramp who told him it wasn't in and he had no idea when it would arrive (other than "week of July 1"). Next morning, when my cousin got to work, it was there. It was hard, but I never said "I told you so." He mention how sad it was that he couldn't get accurate, up to date info, and I could. LOL!

Yeah I hear you Ed... just be glad that you ARE a dealer.

And that you don't have to put up with all of the BS we normal customers have to deal with.

The list is long and distinguished.

Im also frustrated with ford. They had my car for a week fixing the brake resevoir leak. Now im trying to get the paint fixed and im getting the run around again! They want me to bring it in so they can take pictures. They had it for a week and I was told the body shop manager had already looked at it and O.K.'d the paint! I dont have time for this bull****. I work nights and having to stay up to take it in over and over is really pissing me off.

Ed, we seem to be in the same boat, with one exception. I was at the dealer today, and he actually let me look at the computer screen when I asked about my car. Right there, it says "shipped" on 6/9! In the "railcar" window, there was nothing. The salesman says he is not "allowed" to call OPC but so often, and last week they told him the "quality hold'' line. Heck if I know... What does the quality hold thing mean anyway? Did my car get botched or damaged and has to be "fixed" before it leaves Flat Rock? I wonder if "shipped" simply means "shoved out the door"...
Hope yours gets here soon

Please, don't even get ME started. I've emailed Ed more times than I can remember and we've cried on each other's shoulders thru it all.

I can poop in a box, ship it FED EX Ground across the country, and hop on a website and tell you exactly where and when the package passed thru the numerous checkpoints. But for a $30k car? And 'rotating stock'... Acme employees on their first day can get the oldest milk to the front row with little supervision.

Ford needs to get customer's orders built the first week TO the customers in a more timely manner. There are folks driving '07's for two weeks now that simply walked into a dealership and bought on impulse. If the orders were held up for a new commodity, fine. But when you can confirm the cars were built on the second day of production (June 6th for the Stang), then this is an outrage.

Can you imagine if the first Shelby was lost for a month? That dude from Barrett-Jackson would be getting a nice $648,000 refund, don't you think?

Ed-
Did you ever see the tracking support Kzinti offered??? I got a reply from an associate of Al Giombetti - spoke on the phone for 25 minutes about emails/letters Ive been sending to Ford execs about getting Kzinti back online and why- as a dealer AND now customer, would you mind sending them a note too? pm me for addresses if you dont have them

just imagine how much worse the CRC woulda been to a average buyer...Fords got the products, and still have no idea what buyers want...the post above about tracking a turd thru fedex is good too- couldnt agree more- Ford needs to get with the times.

I was really fortunate with mine. My dealer (with a lot of info supplied by Kzinti) helped me keep track of my car. In fact, I knew it was on their lot before they did! I happened to be driving through the lot at 6:00 AM and there it was.

Did you ever take into consideration that the car might have been shipped by truck and not rail? If the car is on a truck then no rail car would be listed.
My car was never listed as being on a railcar, from the day it was shipped to the day it arrived at the ramp ERL told me 'shipped via convoy carrier'.
If the car was ever loaded on a train you would expect the message to change from 'convoy' to 'rail' then either 'convoy' or 'arrived at ramp'.
Message never changed for my car...and I was like everyone else here calling at a minimum once a day (sometimes more) looking for updates on the car.

HEY PITPUP, and others!
remember me??? still kinda new to the site.
I got my grabber at least a month early.
June 28th to be exact.

I had my sales man locate an existing car that was close to what I ordered.
he found one near Columbus (I live in Cleveland) approx 120-130 miles away. the exact car I ordered. right down to the penny.
so my salesman wanted to pick up the car himself so no one would beat on it during relocation.
I called the dealer in Zanesville (near Columbus) and there was 19 miles on the car. so I figured there should be no more than 180 when it get's here...maybe 200 welllllll it came back with 262 which I was not happy about , but hey, watcha gonna do.
at least I don't have to go thru all the crap that some of you are going or went thru.
I feel for ya's.
