I believe it violated some of our rules on advertising and several of our paying sponsors complained. Bill is welcome to contact me about joining the site as an official sponsor.

So if I make something for my own vehicle, post a picture of it and people love it, want it, and offer to buy them, I have to pay TMS before I can talk about the stuff I make? Just a clarification. Seems detrimental to creativity in the mod department.

Well, I guess it was inevitable that corruption and corporate America find it's way here... Whenever sponsorships and money get involved free speech and exchange of ideas go to the wayside. Here is a man with great talent and idea's that are a refreshing change around here as far as what is available for our cars. I would say "Several" sponsor's complaining to mean namely Mid West Auto... Shame on you MWA for not being able to get anyone with talent to paint your otherwise dull covers...If you would think a minute before complaining you would realize that Bill's talent and his success will result in sales of your cover period. The only way I would buy your plenum cover is if BILL graces it with his TALENT, how do you like those apples. I am a Team Mustang Source member who makes a small contribution each year to help support this site. It is a crying shame that with all the members that also contribute, it is not enough to avoid sponsorships and advertising to avoid this kind of B.S...

Disclaimer: I, in no way am affiliated with Bill or his business. I made my statement's of my own FREE will and in my opinion and my opinion alone. I respect Bill for his talent and level of commitment to service and his customers. I feel this is a gross injustice to him, the Free exchange of ideas and the United States of America... :usa:

I would think that Hireman could show his talent on the site and post that if anyone is interested in knowing anything more to PM him. And not discuss the sale or price it on the site. Is this correct?

It's truly a sad day when corporate politics and greed not only affects our jobs and country we live in, but also to affect something as pure as our love of Mustangs.

Don't overreact guys. It's always a sensitive situations when two competing companies/individuals target the same people. It's not the first or even second time it's happened on this site. We'll get it worked out soon.

Wasn't Bill buying the plenums from MWA at retail, or slightly below?..

Seems like that would be a nice boost in sales.

Way to go Brad. And when you think about it, Hireman is not really selling plenum covers per se, he is selling his exclusive art. Midwest sells the covers to Hireman and Hireman does his thing to them and passes them on to customers. Midwest makes the sale and Hireman sells his art. Or is the problem that Hiremans art is exceptional to the point that someone else doing the same thing can't compete?

O'well, glad it will get worked out. Thanks again Brad.

Not to be a smart hieny....but it seemed that a lot of people were interested in the explanation behind why Bills "Flamed Plenum covers" was removed completely from the boards like it never existed...Then a thread asking why, was shut down (locked) in true Gestapo fashion. What I find particurally interesting is the fact that the thread asking "Why was Bills Flamed Plenum cover removed" received more hits in 4 hours than Mid-West Autos STICKY received in 2 days...I guess the answer is right there in front of us now isn't it....

Looks like it was removed so MWA could pawn of their own second rate ones.

I for one understand why, BUT Midwest has forgotten about us V6ers. Midwest needs to get off their $%^&ss and provde us with some solid info. I've been on a group buy list for weeks now and still waiting for the deal, Must be nice having the only deal in town and but when Bill comes up with something big time with SOLID MERIT he gets pushed back so he can pay advertising. He's gotta get the cover form Midwest so you'd think they'd happy he's in the mix.

I would hope that Bill, and anyone else who is watching, notes that there are a lot of other parts on a car that can benefit from a custom paint treatment. For that matter, there are a lot of other parts that can be acquired apart from plenum covers, perhaps representing a better investment and object of attention, given prevailing attitudes.

Personally, I could care less about plenum covers, but I sure look forward to a couple of other parts Bill has access to and is working on, parts that don't depend on nonforthcoming enlightened attitudes from petty vendors.

It's your money, people, vote with your pocketbooks.

Brad:

Bill (hireman) did try to contact you, but you were at SEMA (I passed via PM). I hope that a solution can be found. I understand that MWA is an official supplier/sponser to the site, and maybe Bill should be also. I think this hit him (Bill) fairly quickly. I was the one who instagated the movement from Bills own flaming pony on his car to production (SN-001) and soon he was inandated with orders. I dont think it was his intention to violate site rules or policy. And as stated earlier he is buying covers and just painting them. Additionally, I think he has tried to contact MWA and arrange some sort of working arrangement.... His work is top notch and I suggested to him that he should offer one up for the TMS Project Source Horse (Not sure if you are into the "look" but as the first reciepaint of one they are a great addition and some of the highest quality work I have seen....

The thread was closed because someone asked for an explanation and it was given. There is nothing further to discuss.

And don't start another.
