Im very sad that John Coletti is leaving SVT and FOMOCO. He was a true Muscle Car Braniac! Does anyone have any insight on why he retired? Steve, did your Source "john" tell you anything about why he left?

Between the Ford GT, Shelby Cobra Concept, and Shelby GR-1, it sure does seem like he's been working with the guys at Shelby American a lot. And he's been involved in the development of some of the most incredible Mustangs ever built (1993 Mach III, 1993 Cobra R, 1995 Cobra R, 2000 Cobra R, 2003 Cobra, etc.). It seems like someone with his expertise with Mustang would be a valuable asset at Shelby as they develop their Mustang.

Also, Saleen really needs someone to lead business operations...

He said it was because the Ford GT was the height of his career. I forget the exact wording, but, it sounded like it would require something of that magnitude to bring him back to cars.

I am also sorry to see him go. He is a real car guy. I hope SVT keeps real car guys in charge.

Thank you all for your info and comments. I do agree that Tang is an ally and not an enemy like some people say he is. IF you ever read about him and his interviews, you might be impressed. I sure was. But lets face it Coletti was the BOMB and my concern was if he was retiring because of beef with someone new like TANG or someone higher up or just because he really wanted to retire and do something else. Just seemed like an ODD time to retire, but i dont know the man so I sure cant say.
