I think these are the best pics taken yet of the saleen. Probably since they are taken outside in the sun. I especially like the picture of the side shot with the car facing to the right. Shows how much better a ducktail would look like with a minor ground effect package on a GT ( the ones like roush are way to thick and bulky IMO)

* Many clear interior pictures as well, I like the embroidery on the seats.. The seats look mean and it looks like a better quality leather IMO .. Like I said, cancel the GT order, saleen here I come. LOL

The Saleen doesn't do anything for me (maybe the ducktail). I just can't justify paying the extra cash for it. Of course thats just my opinion.

 

I think the Saleen makes an already good looking car look amazing, I love it. It turns it into a totally different and now fully modern looking car it also looks even better in black than the silver press shots did. And Ill be seeing one at the NAIAS, Ill post my 05 Mustang Convt shots here too by the way.

 

Another 50% more $$$ than a loaded GT....??? For What???? A few ground effects and embroidered seats......and Saleen Badging. Not for my money, even if I didn't already have my GT

 

The extra stuff on the exterior is tacky IMO. The plastic tupperware looking thing on the back needs to go.

 

Everything they touched, they ruined. Even screwed up the gauges :bang: This for the price of what SVT will make? Stupid as usual from them.

THAT"S IT!! I was saying to myself. Hummmm What does the rear end plastic thingy remind me of ?? Kinda weird!!! Yes!!! TUPERWARE!!! I don't like it. The front grill doesn't do it for me either. The holes are too big or somethin. can't figure it out either. If you spent the difference on what a gt cost, ya could buy enough after market stuff to do what ya wanted and still have $$$ left over for a nice procharger . Saleen did an OK job but I think that for a little less money I'm gonna fall in love with the cobra when it comes out. I love what svt did with the 03-04 cobras. especially the rear end( mean as heck lookin) . The cobra was mean, beautiful and classy all at the same time. I'm sure ford will do the same for the new cobra .

 

Then after "market adjustment", you are probably looking at somewhere near $50k or 2 GTs. I am not going to spend nearly that much in the aftermarket and when I am done, I am sure it will look better than the Saleen for a lot less.

 

I'm with you Domainer.
I ain't about paying what they are asking - BUT I love this design and their additions to the '05. Just enough of what we saw on the Saleen show car. And this one is BLACK!!! Just beautiful.

In the end it all comes down to personal opinion of course - plenty of people seem to really dislike this car while I love it...... but then again, I see folks post pics on here of wheels they want to put on their '05 that I find absolutely horrible.


It's all about what floats your own boat baby! B)

That front grill looks god awful. What they did is rushed the job. They could have done better IMO. Yes the black looks sweet.

 

I think it has its ups and downs. Maybe I like it a lot more because I spoke with Steve Saleen for a few minutes about it. Also the pedals are pretty cool I can't wait tell there are a lot of aftermarket ones to choose from. To all the people who hate it, could you design a better car?

 

I hatethat plastic round the tailights. The outside is good though. Ilike those wheels in chrome but no in grey.

 

Tupperware! That's it - that thing on the back looks AWEFUL - and is it me, or does it look like it is misaligned? (The horizontals don't seem to match up). Fugly.

 

Its not bad IMO, but I honestly don't think this body style favors too much departure from standard design as we have pretty much seen a consenus of the iterations possible.

I must be in the minority here, but I actually like the rear end. :hiding:
