Speed Racer was a cartoon my kids used to watch, I believe it was from the mid-late 80's.

I don't see why you are all getting so worked up over this. People are free to whatever they want to their cars as long as it doesn't break the law. (And people go over that anyways)

If you think that your GT with a V8 is going to be any less respected because a V6 looks like it, you need to grow up. You have a V8 Mustang. You have the sound, you have the power, you have everything that is a GT V8 Mustang. And you will kick the *** of the guy in the V6 if he tries to race you.

I have a V6 Mustang Pony Package, and i love it. I don't make it look like a GT, i like it how it is, nor does anyone have the right to insult me or anyone else with a V6 because we choose to support the car and the company that we love. I plan to buy a GT Mustang eventually, but right now, in the here and now, not everyone can afford a V8, so let us 6ers have our fun, go take your V8, burn some rubber, make some noise, and get over it.

 

I think you should go with what you think looks good. I have put the Roush wing and louvers on, but I don't like the rest of the Roush kit.

 

I had a 66 GT350 Convertible. Yes it was a clone, they only made 4 real ones. It had tripower, a 5 speed, and lots of other goodies that weren't even available in 66. It also put out over 375hp. Carroll Shelby signed the glove box. I sold it for enough money to buy a new 06 GT convertible. I was going to do something simular with the new one. I even got the Michigan liscense plate 06GT350. I actually got tired of all the Shelby hipe. I am tired of Shelby wanting a piece of anything that looks like a Cobra or GT???. It is no shame to own a GT. I have done a lot of mods to it, but it does not pretend to be anything it isn't. My new license plate is GEE TEE, and it is all I need to get in all the trouble I can handle. I also have a 65 coupe that I am making in to a clone of the 06.

Two of the five things I do not mess with is anyones car or money. We can have our rides from the so-called secretaries v6 car (which is boloney) to world class supercars. If you clone, that's your car and your money. Just don't let your lie catch up with you and say it's something it's not. That goes for the GT drivers too. (Smiles)

 

The pony package is a sweet set up. There's a Grabber Orange pony packaged 6 in my area. A sweet lil ride..

im about to do the shelby front fascia and gt500 hood.

i dont consider it a clone because i just love the way it looks as compared to stock GT.

i feel its our own way of doing a body upgrade that ford might offer or SHOULD offer.

much like porsche offers the 911 C4S which is pretty much the 911 turbo bodystyle without the turbo motor; like mercedes offering AMG body upgrade package to a non-AMG motor car.

and at the end of the day, this is a labor of LOVE..passion...we should do what makes our blood flow and moves our soul and makes our hearts filled with joy
