Who uses ramps to work under their car?
Who uses ramps to work under their car? I have a new exhaust system to install and want to get some ramps to raise the back end of the car. Who uses them, what brand, and where did you get them from? I saw a nice plastic set at Autozone, I’m just worried that I won’t have enough clearance to drive the back wheels up onto the ramp.
Thanks

Rhino I think are some of the best. Too quick of an angle for me to use. I just jack it up then put ramps under. Although I did make my own set out of wood. Just heavy to maneuver around.

Try moddifying the approach to the ramps, a trick I use is stacking some wood leading up to the ramp - One of these days, I'll get all fancy and make some stacked 2 x 12s just for the job.

I started with Rhino ramps but they tend to slide so I have since moved on to driving up onto a 2x12 and then jacking the car up and onto the Cribs made by race ramps. Gives me the most room and work great! Next I'll go for a 2 post lift when I can finally get my shop built.
that sounds good.

Shouldn't be, I've done Flowmasters which wasn't hard at all, and of course the Loud Mouths on my GT500 were even easier. the hardest part IMO was getting to a set of bolts on top of each of the factory mufflers otherwise easy stuff.

Rhino ramps for me. I think I bought them at Wally World.
Before the Rhinos, I had a set of yellow metal ramps. They did not fit under the front bumper of my previous '99 'Stang or the current '09.

The first time I swapped mufflers I did it without the car in the air, and it was pretty easy, but it took a good bit longer than when I've done it since with the car 3-4 inches higher in the air on my homemade ramps. They work well for oil changes too.

I use floor jacks and ramps.
I am usually alone and I don't trust driving up ramps without a spotter. (or with a spotter really)
I just jack it up and drop it on my big metal cross-braced ramps.
Can't tell you what kind they are 'cause they are probably older than most of you are.
If I put the other end on my jackstands, I can get the whole thing off the ground.
