Ah. Lookie. This thread.

I can claim to be in the 'ME!' category for the question still. Go read up there somewhere about it.

Those dreaded car payments. It does make you think twice when you have a ride you truly still enjoy.
I just finished paying off my 2020 Challenger last month. If I didn't have a high dollar Corvette to trade-in I never would have undertaken a 5 or 6 year payment plan. As it was, I didn't enjoy my 10 months of making high dollar payments. I'm glad it's over. I am going to start saving up for a new Mustang but I'm not sure I'll save enough (like $50k) before the V8 engines will be gone. I'm going to try anyway.

Couldn't agree more nor said it any better myself

Mine was built/born on my youngest daughter's birthday so she's a keeper.

There are a few of the new S550 that I would now consider, but only if I can keep my ‘14. Even though my S197 is not in the range of this thread (2005-2009) I love my S197. Love the look, love the sound, love to drive, love to see all the head turns, love to get all the thumbs up, love to hear all the great comments strangers come up to me and say.

Even though the tech in the new cars has improved, I just don’t want to let my retro (or better said as original style) Mustang go, because I will never be able to get another that I know everything that has been done to it or find another one that matches what I chose as options and built as I desired.

I would love to have another S197 in a 13 or 14 GT500, but still have a very hard time letting my 14 Roush go. Would love a late model GT350, would love a New Mach 1, but still the ‘14 will likely be my car for a very long time…. Just love it!!! So unless my wife lets me add to my collection those others will have to be a pipe dream. Besides I would need a much bigger garage to add the other 3.

Well I can honestly say that when I was looking for a mustang the only one that came to mind was a s197. Can't explain why, it must have been that they are the only ones that in my opinion resembles the 64/65 version the best. And ever since I got mine I wouldn't trade it for any other. Unless it's the gt 500 then maybe the thought would cross my mind.
