When I got my 05, I knew I would keep it at least 10 years. Nothing I have seen so far has made me change my mind. If I remember correctly, a new series/model is out in 2012, If they come up with an SE I really like sometime after this, I may be tempted.

I Love my 07 GT/CS and almost traded last week for a Silver Alloy Vert Shelby , but I'd have taken too big a hit and if 09/10's will have the SYNC I will then nost likely go for one.

There is nothing about the 2010 that makes me wish I waited to get one. If anything I am relieved that the 05-08 stands on its own as a design like he original classics do. There might be a couple of things here and there in the interior that are improved but I never had a problem with the exterior of the 05-08.

The appeal of the 05-08 model for me was that it actaully has the look and appeal of the original classic while incorporating all modern engineering and quality.

I bet 1994-1998 owners said the same before the 99 was shown. yet the 99+ is the more popular of the two now.

Time will tell, but comparing 94-98 and their reaction to the '99 really doesn't take into account the apparent love affair Mustang owners, both new and old, have for the current body style. It is very reminiscent of the love affair of the '65 - '68 Mustangs. It really depends on how the 2010 turns out, but, again, most folks here appear pretty deadset against trading a current car for the 2010. Time will tell, indeed.

the 2005 brought in a lot of mustang posers. People that would never have even thought about buying a sn95, or a fox. So you might be right in that aspect, but the mustang faithful i think this is very much like the 98 to 99 change over.

Im keeping my 05. If the next gen offers 400hp and decent looks, Ill probably get one, but just kinda "retire" the 05.

I am keeping my 05 and driving it till it falls apart. Then I will rebuild it and drive it again. I would consider a SE like a Boss though. Not sellin this one to get it though.

I might, but I have not seen enough of the outside yet. As others have mentioned, I am not sure about the headlights and taillights. It does look like the interior materials are upgraded and it will have SYNC and stability control. Those would be pluses for me. The dealmaker for me would be if they build a torch red GT-350 convertible. I would probably trade for one of those.....

I plan on keeping the 05, thinking that it will be worth a bit of money in twenty or so years being the first major change for Mustang. Also Windveil Blue is not available after this year so the colour might be a sought after item.

I think Ford has done a pretty good job of improving the appearance from model to model in the last 20 years or so. From what I've seen of the '10, I hate it, but I am still pretty confident that Ford will come out with something that looks equal to or better than the current design.

If it looks decent and starts at 400hp, I'm in. (I know I can easily get 500hp on my current car, but wouldn't you rather start with 400hp and easily get 600hp?)

Yeah it did. I'm one of the mustang posers. Only SN95 I was interested in were 03-04 terminators. I was more into the Acura RSX-S and Subie WRX's and was going to wait for an '08 Mitsubishi Evo X... but then got sick of my dying Volvo about 9 months too early and got a late model Stang. I'm happy now and haven't looked back once, but I'm still a ricer at heart, flame away.

Interesting thread. I would be curious to see how many folks took a pass for whatever reason on the 05-09 model but who plan on buying a 2010+ model car. Unfortunately a poll likely wouldn't tell you much here since a good number of those folks may not be on the forums.

That said, this is exactly the position I find myself in. I like the current car, but the 2010 seems to be undergoing the same kind of transformation the Mustang underwent during the 1967 restyle taking on a leaner and meaner style which appeals to me. Also, the transition to a more 'GT500 style' front fascia is a big plus for me as is the promise of improved brakes and suspension. The real deal sealer for me though is the addition of the 400hp 5.0L V8 and 6 speed manual in 2011. Assuming the styling doesn't somehow take an as yet unknown turn for the worse I'll be peddling around in a 2011 GT sometime in the next couple of years.

After looking at the new pics of the taillights, those things are very ugly. I wonder what else they messed up on the 2010+ redesign.

I, too reserve judgement until actually seeing an uncovered picture of the 2010. I will be keeping my '07, and merely adding to the stable once it is paid off
