Who Had the Longest Wait Time?
Okay so here's my story. I posted the basics of my wait on another thread but I didn't go into much detail about it. I'm currently in the air force and stationed at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey studying Arabic, and I've been here since March of last year. Around September I decided to buy an '05, and I wanted to give myself enough time between then and the time I was to graduate from my language to get my car. So I figured December would give me more than enough time. I ordered a sonic blue GT with everything except the auto tranny and mach 1000, at X-plan price, 12 December 2005. I was told by the dealer to expect it by Easter, but it remained clean and unscheduled until just last week. Checking it now I see that it's been scheduled to be built the week of 18 July, 220 days from the date I ordered, which happens to be three days before I'm going to graduate DLI. Not even allowing for the two weeks or so it will take for delivery of the vehicle, it doesn't look like I'll be able to get my car by the time I leave for Goodfellow AFB in Texas. I've had my hopes high ever since I ordered the car and I've stuck with it since then, but I can't help but feel like my time here has been taken for granted. It's not easy for a servicemember to work details like this out once they've been relocated, and I feel like once the car is finally delivered it will be one big headache to try and get it from here in Northern California to Central Texas. Unfortunately I have FoMoCo to thank for that. If all of you tell me it's worth the wait then I'll believe you, but it'd be one heck of a car to make up for the wait AND the inconvenience. These guys really know how to bring me down.
How bout KillerGT, 207 days!

See my signatue file. Almost 6 months.
Unless you count the two months my father had to wait for my 1968 GT. I was only 2 months old when he ordered it, and 4 months old when he got it, but it felt like half my life!
So cumulative that would be 8 months waiting on Mustangs.
