Who got a great deal and where?!

Hello all!

I'm just curious who got kick *** deal's on their buy???

I priced mine and the MSRP after the options I wanted comes out to $29,380. I went to one of my local dealers and he said after taxes and misc charges it comes out to about $31,900. This is for a for an 07 GT Premium with the fanblades, IUP, GT App pkg, Heated seates, 3.55 limited slip, Active Anti-theft.

Have you bought it yet? I got x-plan pricing on mine which put me slightly below dealer invoice or nearly $3000 below MSRP. Don't have the exact numbers here but my MSRP before taxes was $29,985 and I paid a little over $27,000. Yours sounds pretty similar to mine. What color?

I think there's a link somewhere where you can ask someone to float you an X-plan PIN... I don't know... I got mine through work, so I didn't have to ask. But... I think you guys up in your area get hosed... the dealer I bought mine from said that tons of people from the northeast come down, 'cause dealers in your area are goudging so bad.... but I know he won't give someone x-plan if they're out of state. So...

Oh... found it. It's actually on another site.

http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...p?showforum=45

There may be something similar on this site... but I don't know.

Probably not but I'm sure a Ford employee will help you out.

That's a lousy deal, walk away from that dealership. If you are ordering, you should be able to negotiate invoice pricing (around x-plan) without the need for an x-plan pin.

Wow really, I wish that it would be like that but the dealers here in NJ are sharks!

Also, my friend claims he can only use it on Spouse and Immediate familiy.

A problem with the blueoval site pin requests is that you need to show proof that you work for that company that Ford offers the xplan for. So even if someone gives me their pin, how can I make it work at my dealer??

You would be getting the PIN underneath the Friends & Neighbors X-plan so as long as the person providing the PIN works for Ford, it doesn't matter where you work. Visit this site the get more info:

Call Van Bortel Ford in Victor NY. (Ask for Paul Bowers) They sell all their "regular" cars at invoice without any haggling. (in stock AND ordered cars) You could pay to have it delivered and still save money compared to your local dealer.

I bought mine from them back when Mustang prices were really crazy in '04 and got it for $700 under invoice. (about $3,200 under MSRP) For a short time their prices went down to $200 under invoice plus I used the $500 AQHA discount. Hard to beat that deal... even with an x-plan.

What if he doesn't work directly for Ford? He works at an Insurrance company that happens to offer the X-Plan.

Your best bet is getting a pin from a ford employee on the Blue Oval site mentioned above. You may not get one first time you ask, be persistent. It took me 2 weeks. Paid over 3K less than MSRP. You can't use your friends PIN unless he works for Ford.

The Friends & Neighbors X-plan HAS to come from a sponsor that is a Ford Employee or Retiree. There are lots of them that are more than willing to help someone out. You don't have to know them before you get the PIN. Go to Blue Oval Forums to request an X-plan PIN.

Make sure you have a dealer that will accept x-plan first.

I got my X-Plan pin from a friend that works for Hertz. Ford had controlling interest in HERTZ so they offered the plan pricing to Hertz employees. It can be extended to family and friends. The employee enters your information (ssn and some other stuff) and you get a PIN. They can only do like 5 a year though. X-Plan is not as good a price as the direct employee gets, but it was below invoice. Saved me around $2k. The dealership only cared about the PIN, and required no other proof.

I wouldn't take for granted that they don't want that info, though.. my dealer (not the sales guy, but his manager) wanted a copy of my ID badge for work, and a number they could call for employee verification.

Invoice

Since you asked about deals......

When I bought my GT Manual November 11, 2005 I told them my dad was
a retiree and figured they weren't doing A-Plan. The Manager asked me
"What do you need to get a deal done today, Mr. Middxxxx? I told him I
would buy one at invoice. He really wanted me to take one off the lot
but I couldn't go Automatic so he called numerous dealers and all I could
get was Screaming Yellow. I took it.

Are you telling me if you walk on those Jersey lots and say:
"Invoice, right now, I'm buying" they will let you walk away?

Are you trading anything in? That's where they would try to
make up the difference anyway.

Fair Oaks Ford in Naperville IL. Charged me exactly what it said on the sticker plus the taxes and such. And this was during 05 fever when dealers couldnt keep GT's on the lots very long and those that ordered were waiting for months.
