Does anyone see the trend going on here with the bunch of vehicles showing a shipped date of 10/2/2004? There are a lot of them....one being mine. Why doesn't anyone have theirs yet?
Does anyone have any time this morning to provide some analytics on this???

It's funny we can get some cars out there with VIN's in the same set of numbers (like my dealer got one last Friday in the 1049xx area and other members of this forum have theirs (around the 1036xx or 1039xx) and definitely all those cars above the 105xxx series are shipping like crazy, but none of the first-born ponies!!! what gives?

:bang: :bang: [/b][/quote]Here is my speculation as to what is going on:
When they finish building the cars and they are ready to be shipped. They drive them over to the fenced lot to be shipped out on trucks or by rail. It is my belief that what has happened is when they began pulling the cars into the lot, they began parking them at the back of the lot and worked their way forward rather than starting at the front and working their way back. Then when they went to ship them out on the trucks or rail cars, they pulled from the front. it is an accounting principal -- LIFO (last in, first out), and it STINKS!! :nono: :notnice: It should have been FIFO (first in, first out).
Anyway, that's my speculation and two cents for all it is worth. I'm picking up my car this afternoon. It was due in last week and finally arrived yesterday at the dealership.
MStang78--I sincerely believe that too though it is :nono: I ordered the same detailed car as you, except chose Redfire--mine was built two weeks before yours. Does that mean it's going to be another 2 weeks to see it? I have asked my dealer for over a week to check with VOPC on this car. They are finally getting around to that today, now that I have missed college classes for a week, for a car that "will be here anyday now".
I just called the customer service line...she said that my car had an ETA of 10/18, but that its last maintenance check was on 10/19.
I'm guessing that Ford had some sort of early manufacturing kink that they're checking out on cars built in a specific time period.

Klous ordered the same car as mine and he got his 1-2 days before mine. And, I had just got an email from my dealer on Wednesday that said he checked with Ford, and they were not "locating" on Mustangs yet but based on the dates of when it was built, etc., don't expect to see it until October 3. This, when Ford had given the Dealer and myself of Delivery the Week of October 11. So don't give up. It may be here sooner rather than later. I hope so for your sake. It's quite agonizing. And, by the way, mine still does not show up on the "Search Inventory" feature on the Ford.

I agree with you, I have seen a HUGE trend towards the 10/02 date being in limbo. Ford HAS to know something is going on and I can't believe it's a shortage of rail cars. Why can't they (Ford) just be honest & let the dealers/potential owners know what the hold-up is?

Yep...This is what my dealer said will happen to lots of cars that were first made, they get parked in the back of the lot and sometimes newer cars get shipped out first. Don't worry though it will come unlike some of us still waiting on IUP :bang:
