Hey! Think you've got problems? Listen to this. I ordered my Mustang GT on the first day Ford would accept orders. 1st order for my dealer; priority 10. Their first allocation. The car was built in early September, soon after start of production. Do I have the car? No. Earlier, Ford notified the dealer the car would be shipped the week of 10/10. It came and went. No car. While skipping some boring details in the middle; the story is I still don't have the car today. It has allegedly been "shipped to convoy" which can mean anything, but the last time anyone could find it.......it was still in the parking lot at Flat Rock. I complained to Ford customer service. Got an automated response. My dealer is as frustrated as I am. A nearby Ford dealer got in a GT and 2 sixes this week. They're arriving all around, except for mine. After over a dozen new Ford purchases in the past couple of years, I am most upset to get this sorry kind of service. I now know first hand how frustrating it can be when you can't get clear info. I also feel penalized for ordering early. Anyone want to buy some Ford stock???

Your problem, although very aggravating, is a totally separate issue.

This sounds all too familiar...my story is exactly the same as yours, except mine has been listed as "shipped to convoy" since 10-02. Found out on Tuesday that it never was shipped but instead was in this "quality hold" group with a few thousand other GTs. No one seems to be able to give me any info on when I can expect to see the car. And I've gotten no help out of Ford's Customer Service...they didn't even realize the car was in this hold, apparently.

This is my first experience ordering a car, so I don't know if this is normal or not...but it would be nice to at least have some information on whether I'll be getting it soon, or for Christmas.

Same boat here! The latest is that my car is sitting at the railhead (last 4 days). Just waiting for the carriers to bring it over.

This whole quality hold issue that has affected the real early orders has me glad that I waited a bit to put my order in. I also don't understand how some people could have ordered so long ago and not even have a VIN number. I got a VIN number within 7 days of my order.

BEK ~ You know what I really don't care anymore for anyone's explaination of an order. I am dropping it. I have better things to do than to argue over the definition of a word. And I already know that dealers will lie to customers. That's pretty much common knowledge.

And as for being un-submitted who knows. I supposse it could happen. All I do know is that I have NO reason to be suspisious. I WILL get my car 1 way or another. Only because my car is not a regular "order" as everyone elses. My "order" is for a car to replace a lemon.

I called & recieved & then sent in an appication to have my case reviewed & considered as a trade in/buy back. It didn't even make it to the board. The lady in MI who recieved my application showed the paper work to her managers & the told her to go ahead & offer me a deal. So, I agreeded to their deal. They give me a new car at the same or higher bottom MSRP.

So, if I keep getting jacked around I will just call the lady back in MI & tell her my story. That and a few well placed descripted word to depict how angry I am over the service at the Ford dealer & with the Ford plant for not doing as they said they would should do the trick.

See no matter what people think. Ford does not want to loose even 1 customer, much less more from bad publicity. So, Nope. No worries here.

cheers mates

DJ07 ~ I fell for ya. Because I am almost there myself. If it wasn't for my 03 being such a lemon I wasn't planning on buying one. I was perfectly happy with the 03 (except for the color). But the satrs had something else in mind. But yeah I defiently fell your pain.

Good luck. Cheers mates

I have had my car ordered for 6 months. I have a VIN. Supposedly the car is sitting in a lot waiting to be shipped. I really believe that they are holding some of the mustangs for some reason.

From my experience, I'd be more concerned about how long it takes to get the car after it is build. Build date Sept 16, no car yet.

I agree with you & want to know where my car is. Ordered May 22nd, vin# since July 5th, same status 5P since "shipped 10/2" and as of last Friday, 10/29 went to 5W which is worse! from shipped to dealer convoy(5P) to received at foreign assembly plant. My car was built on 9/16 and is either on a haulway truck carrier "lack of drivers to deliver it" or is back on the way to the plant.

FORD what gives? My dealer received a GT for sale on 10/15--vin# 1049xx and mine(GT) is low number 101655--no where near being delivered to the dealer. I'm ready to get a car that can be driven now. and not necessarily a Stang...taking too long to delay delivery.

sounds like alot of us are in the same boat & FORD doesn't care--why did we order early to have to wait & how come the dealers aren't advised as to the reality of our situations? Like why not say--delayed due to....and give the real reason, not ignore the issue.

This is my very first new car & I am not happy that I ordered early. No gratitude or consideration from FORD. "where we don't care".

I called customer service again on Friday and sent an e-mail to Ford with a complaint. Got an automated response, then a response from someone who said Customer Service had answered my inquiry two days before. Well, shazaam, they failed to tell me!! Apparently a number of early production GT cars had a problem or a hold or some reason, and instead of being truthful about it, Ford is just stonewalling. I guess recall is a very dirty word......but they should be concerned that customer dissatisfaction is worse. It's wrong to accept orders and then not deliver, while they are delivering in mass other units ordered and built much later, without letting those of us know the real status of our cars. I am already at the point where I will not again order a Ford on an early basis, and unless the car gets here real soon, I will give another company my business in the future. On Saturday, I visited a dealership in a nearby town that had a GT and two sixes on its lot. All were much, much later than my build date and my VIN. To sum it up, my disappointment at shabby treatment from Ford is turning to anger that will result in no more purchases from this company. One more thing; this is not the first time this has happened. Those of us who bought new Thunderbirds went through the same thing. I bought a Neiman-Marcus edition Bird on 9/25/01. It was delivered to me in October 2002! Long after many other Birds ordered later were delivered. I wish I had learned my lesson then!

I will never ever early order another car in my life, and I don't think I'll ever purchase another Ford vehicle unless its a Mustang for the reat of my life ... and I'm just starting my car buying.

Ford has been totally inconsiderate and has left a BAD taste in my mouth, and for that, they will rarely get my business. I'm glad I'll be getting my car sometime in November now .... seeing it'll be a mother $%&#ing blizzard here in Cleveland in about 3 weeks.

Cudos to Ford and their great customer service and truthfulness about everything! Really impresses me and all my friends! I'm done defending them ever again.

FORD - Found on road dead. Fix or repair daily. Ya, even the new ones they just built ....

Or a new one:

FORD

First ordered, rarely delivered

:notnice:

I'm in the same boat with many of you -- car sent for delivery 10-02-04. Then, nothing! First ordered at the dealership, priority 10, etc.. I definitely do not blame my dealer for this -- they don't know any more than we do. I wouldn't mind the wait if they would just sent word out telling how long the wait will be. At first, after ordering this car, the waiting was kind of fun, exciting you might say. I liked to check the website for pictures and new data. But after the date came and went, it's not so "exciting" anymore. Now the posts are not quite so fun to read. In fact, some are a little mean (sorry, I had to say that..) I'm hoping to try to hang on to some of the excitement for when the car DOES ever show up. Thanks for letting me vent. Happier posts I'm sure are coming!
