Hey everybody. Long time lurker, first time to post. Love the new 'stang but it looks like I'll be waiting until next Christmas to buy (dang these bills!). Anyway, thought you guys would be interested in this. Like everywhere else, the Mustang has been flying off of the shelves here in western Kentucky (in fact, the dealers are having trouble getting one to even show customers). But a dealer in Evansville, Indiana (across the river) has hit the jackpot ... Town and Country Ford has 13 Mustangs sitting on the lot right now (they have every color offered and they are a good mix of V6s and GTs. A salesman said that they purchased 30 cars that were allocated for rentals). But here's the thing ... they are not selling at all. I was suspicious that something was strange when I drove over to see the cars and none of them had the new car sticker (with prices) on them. I told my wife then that they are going to mark these stinkers up. I'm not sure what they are asking (I'm sure it's in the 1000-2000 range above MSRP) but I was kind of proud to see that people around here are not falling for the nonsense of paying above sticker.
And it's not like there is a lack of interest. Everytime I go by, there is a crowd of people around the cars. Plus, you can see that they have been test-driven like crazy. Just the bottom line has kept people from purchasing.
A side note ... every one of their Mustangs have spoilers, even the half-dozen V6s. I was wanting to see what the spoiler delete option looks like and I couldn't even see it on the V6.

I am originally from Evansville. I am kind of surprised T&C is having trouble selling theirs, we have people paying $3k over sticker down here. Welcome to the forums.

Come to New York where on the high end we're $500 over invoice and on the other end some sell for $200 under invoice.

I bought mine at $500 over invoice. Have never met a salesman sell any car for under invoice.

Maybe Town and Country Ford has 180 day grace period with their bank.

Van Bortel in Rochester is Ford and Subaru and every model is $200 under invioce. Has sold some Mustangs to members here at that price and ships them all over the US.

If they're selling for $200 under invoice, I need to renegotiate my deal.
Mine is for invoice through them.
Karpo?

Dealer invoice isn't always the truth, did they give you the invoice amount? or did you do a build on the site and see the invoice price (not even sure if you can do that on the ford site)

Well thats different, I meant without any rebates, just a straight up sale. Rebates don't come from the dealership.

Just called that dealer. Talked to Paul Bowers and ordered a GT for myself. Expecting delivery in April. Yes it was $200.00 under. Refreshing to get the real dope on prices, holds,etc.. I will have to borrow the one I gave to my son every now and then until the new one arrives.

So far all rental V6's I've seen have the sports appearance package. Avis, Hertz, Budget etc usually get these type of cars with upgrades and premium stereos, because they want to offer their customers with a premium car and they have better resale value as well. So you'll probably never see a rental or meant to be rental without a spoiler.

Jason,

We were at invoice and then decided to readjust our pricing to match the rest of our vehicles. Yours will be adjusted at time of delivery.

The only GT near me is 10,000 over sticker , a white automatic expecting a call from another dealer as soon as redfire manual comes in under sticker.
