I've been looking over forddirect.com to find dealers to harass and I've found two nearly identical cars in my area with different prices...

$28,945

and

$27,455

As far as I can see the only difference is that the first has the upgraded wheels. Is there something I'm missing that justifies the $1500 price difference?

Argghh, looks like I can't link directly to those pages. So the question is why would two cars at dealerships that are only 10 miles apart that appear to have the same specs cary different prices?

Those links don't seem to work for me! B)

The Shaker 1000 over the shaker 500 could account for most of that $1,500 !

Maybe you can cut and paste the info you're talking about? Or maybe one's a deluxe and the other's a premium and they both have the same options???

Look at the MSRP window stickers (options). Everything is standard pricing on the cars and/or options. ADM is the only thing that will be different between dealers (if there is any?). Everything else....apples to apples.

Mustang 1

Mustang 2

I'm sure I'm missing something, but I can't figure out what.

Maybe one has the bullit wheels? That's the only thing I could see under Options/Upgrades that was different.

Yep, thats the only thing I see also, but according to the pricing sheet thats only a $195 difference

The thing is I've seen a few of these off ford direct where I can't get the price to add up. Maybe the site is just screwy, but before I start soliciting these dealers it would be nice to know what car I am asking for.

Shaker 1000 (1295) + Concept Rims (195) = 1490

28945 - 27455 = 1490

Reason I knew what it was is because my car was 28945 MSRP. Thank god for D-Plan

The second one $27,455 has the correct price for the listed options.

The higher priced one has the optional wheels, but they are only a $195 option. When you figure the wheels in, there is a $1,295 price descrepancy. $1,295 happens to be the MSRP on the Shaker 1000. So either the 1st car has the Shaker 1000, or they have incorrectly added in the price of a Shaker 1000.

Neither one shows the "interior" section of the car, so I'm betting that car has the shaker 1000, rather than it being a mistake.

Nope, I didn't include the second page with the interior info because it would have made the files too big, but they are completely identical. They both list the Shaker 500. Thanks for the info on the pricing though, I'm sure that is the difference one way or the other.

I'm thinking that Forddirect.com doesn't show the shaker1000 even if it is on the car. I have never seen it on there, even on a car at a dealership near me that I know has it (just checked).

Bingo, thats it. I just pulled up the page for a car I test drove today which did have the 1000 and it isn't listed there either and has a similar price discrepancy. Good observation.

I'm I missing something here but I thought the Anti-lock brakes/ traction control and the adj seats are standard on the GT? This shows them as an op.

Do the option upgrades include what is standed for GT above the V6.

Sorry I know this is

Yes they do. Its an option over the base car (v6 with no options), so they list it as an option. Just makes it look like the car has more (options) than it does.

Either . Assuming I can talk one of the dealers into XPlan. I don't really want the shaker 1000, but I'm getting antsy and may take it if the car I want is wrapped around it

You'll probably have to order one to get x-plan. At least, thats what most dealers have been saying.
