Hello everyone!
I'm looking at having some stuff done to my new toy but am hesitating because I don't want to void the warranty. My question to you is what will and what won't void the warranty? I know, it is a silly question but I've never had a car that I wanted to modify in any way until now.

Shrug, I dunno...
If they can prove that your mod caused the problem, they won't do warranty work.
It also has to do with how "cool" your dealership is. My dealership is doing warranty work that has to do with clutches in/around my differential, despite the fact that I have 4.10's. Luck of the draw, I guess.

Also, the whole warranty cannot be voided for one mod. Only part of the warranty can be voided. Say you get a supercharger and it voids the warranty on the engine. Then your power windows go out. Your power windows are still under warranty even though you voided another part of the warranty.

Thanks for the quick replies. I don't have the cash to do all of the mods I would like to have. I'm just focusing on stuff like the following:
Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter
Steeda Underdrive Pulley System
Cold Air Induction System
9" front wheels and 10" rear wheels
Thats about it. However, I am sure Ill find something else to add later on.
Cheers,
Jon

Again, talk with the service guy at your preferred dealer.
Some are cool, some not so much. On a non-Ford related note, I have a friend that has an Evo VIII, and the Mitsu jerks attempted to flag his entire warranty over aftermarket wheels, saying they altered the ride characteristics and thus had an affect on internals.
Some dealers can be crap.

Here are a couple of links that should provide some information to owners of aftermarket parts. I hope this will clear up some confusion as to what our rights are.

You guys DO realize that a DEALER has ZERO ability to void a warranty? Only the factory can do that and only if they can prove that the mods you did caused that specific failure.

My dealer said if my mod causes the problem, then I have to pay for parts, but they will not charge me for labor. Sounded good enough so on went the wheels/tires, my C&L and Lidio's sct xcal2 tune!!!!!
