It appears to be some sort of buildup on the throttle body, any ideas? Normal?
Thanks.

Either you've got hard water & thats just residue from that or the aluminum is corroding.
Aluminum turns to a white powder when it corrodes.
See if you can remove/scrape off. If so, I'd guess it's just hard water residue. Our water here is the pits.
Haven't noticed it on mine, but with the Shaker, I can't see much of the throttle body anymore.

Can't tell from your avatar, but do you have a factory hood scoop?

I was at a local car show and a buddy of mine has a new GT/CS and he noticed a pool of water in the same spot on the TB. Figured out it was coming from one of the bolt holes used to secure the factory hood scoop. Sealed it up (silicone) and that stopped the water leak...

It looks like at some point in time a little antifreeze got up there.

It looks like corrosion from salty water. That's the type of corrosion I use to get opn certain parts of my fishing boat.

I had the same thing happen and yours also is most likely from a little bit of water coming in through the factory hood scoop and settling there. It will react with the aluminum, especially with the engine heat, and cause that corrosion. I cleaned mine up with a small SS brush, taped everything up and painted the whole TB with cast aluminum rattle can paint. No problems since because the paint protects the aluminum
