What should be the punishment for door dingers?
This AM I was taking my daughters to school and a car load of teeny girls screetch into the slot next to mine in their POC Toyota, all their heads booping in unison. So just to be safe, I turned my lights on. When they get out, one of them remarks in that teenage sarcastic voice, "We wont ding your precious car". She's right, it is precious, Vista Blue 07 GT/CS with about 250 miles on it.
But I got to thinking, if I wasnt there, I KNOW they would have carelessly crunched into my door. No doubt. My question to you is: What should be the penalty for such a thing. I'm thinking we pull the ol' Saddam Hussein treatment on them.

I'm pretty bad about looking for door dings when I return to my car and see an SUV parked close. They've been lucky so far, since I haven't ever found a ding while looking for one. However, I'll have to admit that no matter how hard I try, occasionally I have to lightly open my car door against another car to get in, since the parking spaces in many lots are not wide enough.

Stuff like this really makes me mad. I was sitting in front of this restruant eating at night and this mom and like three of her kids come walking up behind me about to get into the truck next to me. Well the kids come on my side to get in and the mom goes to the drivers side to get in and all in thinking is isn't she gonna come around and help her kid get in because I know how kid's are with opening doors I turn my head to my fiance kinda acting like I didn't see them getting in and smack! The little girl's door opened a little too far. It didn't hit hard but enough for me to feel it. I get out give the mom a look of DEATH and looked at my door and there was nothing there.

I try to never park next to any cars unless necessary.

Whenever I'm out with my car I'll park out in the boondocks, and next to an island. This way the chance of dings are cut by 50%. I'll take a longer walk into a store than a closer walk, and a possible suprise when I get back.
