OK. Apparantly all my complaining in regards to the salesmen giving me the run around on this forum and on multiple telephone calls did some good. At any rate, I'm curious what the time frame is on each stage of the car build. I now have a VIN and I've been told the car will start down the line on April 18th.

(1) Apparrently I'm in a stage called "Buck" or "Bucking" when they ensure that all parts for the vehicle are there.

(2) Next I'm told that on April 18th my car starts down the assembly line. This is the Build Date.

How long does it take once they start it to actually have it drive out the doors?

(3) Once it's built, then it of course has to be shipped to us here in Kansas City.

About how long does that take?

Basically, I just want some more information on this entire process from here on out. I'm already having problems finding enough containers for the extra drool.

Good to see another KC region GT getting built. I was told I would get my car 2-3 weeks after my build date.

Nah, there really isn't anything in the post that he can say is wrong or that its the dealers fault.

My build date is the week of April 11th. I'm thinking that I will get it the second week of May here is California. If it gets here faster than that then I'm a happy guy!

My dealer called today. I am in "bucked" status. ETA for delivery to Central Illinois is 4/25.

Yes, I think that's about right. That fits with my experience. (see sig) In fact, I'm picking it up tomorrow!

I was told 2-3 weeks after the build week as well and that seems consistent with what most people are reporting.

On the other hand, I was told 6-8 weeks when I ordered it. (I am in week 15 now)

Almost here I can taste it!

I just can't believe how long this takes. :bang:

The vehicle according to ERL was shipped on 04-23-2005.

Today I get a phone call and I'm told it IS in Kansas City, but NOT at the dealer yet. It MAY be in today or Tomorrow. I offered to go to the Ford Plant where it's supposedly just sitting and pick it up myself but they can't do that. Even if I have the check in hand. My goodness, what teases they are.
