What day of the week was your car built?
#1
We've heard about the myth(?) that cars built on a Monday or Friday tend to have more "issues" than those built on any other day of the week. Does anyone know how to determine the actual build date of your car? What day of the week was yours built and does this myth have any truth to it?

I believe one of the stickers on the inside of the driver door section will tell you assembly date of the vehicle. Can anyone confirm?

Best source is on the Oasis report. This is the system that Ford uses to track the maintenance on your car and includes the actual completion date, warranty start date, recall history etc. Search other threads, there are dealer reps here who will pull your Oasis report if you give them the VIN.
Really nothing to that old story now, robots built most of your car and they don't slack off just because the weekend is coming.

They should because on my 02 Grand am SC/T it says built 9/17/03 when in actuality it's an 04'. Figures beautiful Gm at it again. that's very interesting. But yes the driver side door will usually let you know the exact build date.

My door sticker has the month, but not the date.

Greg ~ Now that you have a build date you should call your dealer & he/she should be able to give you a VIN.
Bob ~ That's weird. Mine says 01/05/05. Like Phil said though, your dealer should be able to tell you. Or if all else fails you could always call Customer Service & ask them & just see what they tell you.

I've never seen a new Ford have the actual DAY. All their ID stickers that are one the driver's side door jam only have the month and year.
If someone thinks they have the month/day/year on theirs, I'd like to see a pic.
