So I'm dragging around the house, being a bad guy, because once again I made a trip to the Ford dealer, and no 05 mustangs.

So my wife says. "I'm really getting tired of this" You always wanted a Corvette, why don't you just get one of those"

So I smell a rat. I'm not falling for this one, I think to myself. So I say, because Corvettes are twice as expensive as Mustangs.

She said (scroll down)

"So what"

I almost fell out of my chair. So not being a fool I roll out to hit every Chevy Dealer with in 50 miles of here. I was looking at a C6, but came across a 2004 C5
Commomerative Addition that they were just giving away. The dealer said hows this price, I said how about this, he said ok, and I bought it on the spot.

This will be my last post

Peace andf good will to everyone.

Well congrats on your purchase, and maybe you can still get a stang if you want it since you got a good deal.

Well good luck to you, I guess. I for one will never understand people's complete lack of patience?

Don't get me wrong a Vette is an awesome car, and if that makes you happy, so be it. But it's not a new Mustang! :P

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

There's no need for anger
There's no need for blame
There's nothing to prove
Ev'rything's still the same
Just a table standing empty
By the edge of the sea
Farewell [willfulone]
The sky is trembling
And [you] must leave.

i dont think he chose to buy the corvette because he couldnt wait for the mustang, i think he chose the corvette because he actually had the chance to buy one without the wife getting mad.

oh well, we will never be sure why he bought the corvette [watches as willfulone drives his new vette beyond the horizon]

Actually, it does remind me a bit to what my wife said when I first saw the new Mustang this past Februrary. "If you get a Mustang, I want my SUV" I said "No problem, let's do it now!"

I suppose he's always wanted a Vette, and the wife got tired of him pining after a car that she knew he was settling for, for reason's of cost.

Such a pity... having to settle for a Vette! Hey, if my wife said, "Go buy a Vette", I'd be down tying on that Chevy bowtie faster than you could say "GET 'ER DONE!!!

Drive the Vette for a year or so and then trade UP to a new '06 Mustang Corba...just an idea.

My wife knows better than to say "go buy a Chevy". May as well screw the pooch in this house. Not happening.

You can't go wrong with a C5.

I would seriously consider picking up a low mileage used one over a new Mustang but even though the car will be a weekend toy and not a daily driver I still do not want to buy a fun car that my kids can't ride in too.

Grats on the purchase, looks like your impatience paid off well,,, for you. I'd still take the Mustang.

I would love a new Vette over the Mustang -- both vehicles have heritage and well, one costs 2x more than the other -- otherwise, I would seriously ask anyone why IF YOU COULD AFFORD IT, would you take a Mustang over the Vette. Name recognition aside, the Vette is a much more superb vehicle in all respects, but like I said, the Mustang costs a lot less and heck, it really is an awesome deal overall. Enjoy the Vette!

the new corvette and mustang cant be classified together. the c6 is 400 hp and 45,000 and the mustang is 300hp and 25,000. if i had the money id go for the c6. then again with the new mustang ur getting the most for every dollar u put out.

The C5 is a very nice ride. A couple of months ago dealers in a lot of places were offering $11K off MSRP, and now that the C6 is out, I'll bet they're making some pretty good deals on existing C5's.

May i ask why you said this was your last post? Just because you settled for a corvette doesn't mean you can't come back here and see us enjoying our mustangs.
