Weird failure in my '06 V6

Am I crazy, or did my harmonic balancer fail in the oddest way?

saw identical pics last year on here...I remember because I went and looked at my wifes engine- its got a kinda squeaky belt, was afraid maybe it too was running on the hub unnoticed- hers was fine(so far), but I'd say those dampers are crap to fall apart like that in just a few years.

speaking of the wifes car, found one of her timeslips yesterday- 15.7 @ 88mph, not bad for a stock 6...my 69 w/302 only ran a best of 15.6 (single exhaust)...wonder if high revving tears up the dampers or if its more from the low frequency vibes inherent to most sixes? guessing its low rpm but dunno.
