I know many of you have aftermarket air filtration and inlet systems. I'm wondering if anyone can grab the digital cam and snap some shots of the factory air box, including the top, inside, where the fresh air enters, etc. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing the area where the box resides under the hood in some detail; ie: where the stock airbox draws its air from.

If you want to pm me to just email me the shots that would work as well.

Thanks if anyone can do this!

Hmm, it looks pretty wide open.

There's nothing in front of the square opening on the upper right is there? Might be a trick of perspective, it's either wide open or there's a big wall in front of it. Doesn't look like it from the outside view.

I think a top for the stock airbox with a larger, radiused inlet and a 90MM MAF would add some power and keep the stock look. I bet I could lay it up out of carbon fiber!

Thanks a lot for the pics! I might have to get a unit from the jy's and start prototyping.

Hey mlcrisis-

I've started a thread over on gttech trying to figure out why my AFE intake kit doesn't fit. Looking at your pictures it seems there's some differences in our airboxes. Where yours has the open ended notch for the rubber mounting grommet, mine has a solid plate with a 1" hole in it and a small grommet thru it.
Biggest problem I have is the diameter of the factory duct. Mines 3.5" and the kit has a 3" tube.
I was wondering if you get a chance could you measure the inside diameter of your stock duct and let me know what it is?

Thanks!

No, there nothing in front of the square opening. That's the outside air inlet that goes into the fender well area. Most of it is a rubber attachment that clips onto the plastic air box.

It's 3 1/8 inside diameter, 3 3/8 outside.
