Have read a ton of stuff in the Forum on quality - I thought I would bring this subject up to see how many old farts, like me, remember vapor lock. As I recall, fix #1 was insulating the fuel line, #2 if you had the $$$ - install a electric fuel pump.

If no one remembers the "Joys Of Vapor Lock" - especially in the warmer climates, guess I'm older than I thought!

I remember it well on my '66 here in the desert. The only problem was fix #1 wasn't a complete fix. I remember being stranded more than once, waiting for it to cool off so it would start again.

The potatoe method I don't remember.....but I remember having to wrap my fuel line all the way back to the tank along with shielding the carb whwnever I ran my car at the drags in the valley (San Fernando, ca., hot) in the 60's. Wouldn't surprise me if you had to still do it to get a decent run!
