Unbelievable
So, my car was built April 4th week. I was given an ETA of April 25th. After april 25th came and gone, it was discovered that my car was put in a quality control hold and was supposedly released May 2nd.
After calling the dealership almost daily to find out what the $%&# was going on, the dealer more or less told me that at this point, he didn't know anymore. It should have been loaded on a rail car, but it wasn't. He told me he would ask his regional rep to call me, and give me more info.
Well, this morning, I get the call from the regional rep. Apparently, the car is still on hold with 600 and some other cars. He woudln't say why, but a car being in a quality control hold for 2 weeks can't be good. The car *Might* be released sometime next week, and if it gets a rail car right a way, then I might see it by the first week of june.
This is the 3rd Mustang I have bought in 5 years, and to be honest with you, this whole thing is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. As it stands now, I will never buy another ford vehicle again.
Is anyone else in the same boat is me, or am I just that unlucky? Do you think I am being fed a load of bullpoo?

I don't get it...
Do you want them to ship the car with a know defect? Usually the hold is because they are waiting for a replacement part from the vendor.
I would be happy that they caught the problem before they delivered the car. I know the wait seems like it will never end, and you have my sympathy, waiting creates a vacuum. All I can say is when it arrives, you will forget how long it took!

Sometimes you just have to wait. I ordered my car the middle of December, it was clean and unscheduled forever, then I got a build date. Built on April 26th, shipped by rail on May 3rd, and I'm still waiting for it as its on a train since then to the West Coast. The fact that you were built is something you should be happy about since a lot of people weren't. I'm on my 2nd new Ford. Got my first for graduation, loved it so much that I'm buying #2. It's all about products anyway, when Ford builds the most cost effective V8-powered super high horsepower car, WITH the heritage that the mustang already has, that essentially blows away the competition. There is nothing remotely similar you could get dollar for dollar, and nothing at all you could get with the universally rave reviews and the heritage. The bottom line is don't go whining about this being your last Ford when the product is fundamentally sound. It's the best in its field

I know the waiting is a drag, but never buy a Ford again?!? That's a little overboard IMHO. You will change your mind when you get the car.
Hang in there Ronny! I know it is hard to look for anything positive, and I feel your pain. I had the same build week and just took delivery last night. Have I forgotten about the 104 day wait? HECK no. But this is one sweet ride. At least your Regional Rep is involved. And maybe Ford will take care of all the TSB issues before they deliver. Keep the faith!
