I had mine going twice after I was on the freeway and if it hadn't been for the alarm, I would never have heard it.

Anyone here ever driven a ford focus? Now, that is a loud turn signal.

When I first test drove the 05, right after I put on the signal light, I muttered an "Oh Crap"

The salesman laughed at my story, as I explaned to him that in 02, when I bought my mustang, my dad also bought a focus. Jokingly, I explaned to my dad, that if the mustangs signal lights sounded like that, I wouldn't have bought it.

I guess I gotta eat my words now.

I think it sounds cute

(and at least you'll know its on if you forget)
i have forgotten mine is on 7 times already in less than a month because it is TOO QUIET! radio was on none of those times, windows down only a couple of them. i have had passengers asking me whether i signaled, and only one has every openly noticed the ticking sound (commented on how nice it sounded). i dont understand how someone could think its too loud, ive never heard a quieter one before...?
my car is a gt, maybe v6 and gt have diff signal volumes? [/b][/quote]
Either get your car checked or your ears checked. I have a GT and if the radio is off the people in the back seat can even hear it.

What annoys me is the way pedestrians cause scratches on the bumper when you hit them. Those darn belt buckles and purse clasps!
You're running over pedestrians?

Although I definitely wouldn't rule this care out for such a petty inconvenience, the turn signal IS too loud, at least for me.

I drove a manual GT with Shaker 1000, and there were several noises which annoyed me...namely:

The turn signal
The gearbox
The ring/pinion whine upon deceleration

Feel free to disagree, but after owning 50+ vehicles, I can say that these issues are not ones that should be happening in a brand new vehicle. In reference to the turn signal, if you like a computer beeping at you, then cool for you, but for me, I get enough of that at work.

It annoys the crap out of me, just like the gearbox chatter.

Lastly, for those that say turn up the radio, well, what can I say. It's fine to turn it up to avoid an annoying turn signal, but if your general answer to an objectionable noise is to turn the radio up...prepare to have your car break down a lot.

You should listen to your car, it will tell you when something is wrong. It's called preventative maintenance. Take it from someone who has been rebuilding engines for 10+ years.

hehe, I know what you mean. I was talking to my mom on my cellphone the other day and she said, "so where are you turning?"

Sometimes I think its loud and other times I think "what happend to the signal sound?" The majority of the time though, it doesn't bother me.

At 90 with the shaker 1000 at any volume you don't notice it.

Of all the things to nit-pick on a brand new car someone actually complains about the turn signal volume?!?!??!?!?! Are you kidding me?

Use the stereo as it is suppose to and it should do a thorough job drowning out that blinker noise... I'm pretty much speechless about this thread.

The turn signal sound is noticable so people won't follow you for miles with your tail light flashing, like those people who drive GM products. :drive:

Get a GT and accelerate ......
You beat me too it...exactly what I was going to say. When they don't turn off automatically I sometimes forget my turn signal is even on b/c I can't hear it over the GT's growl. B)

That doesn't really work, most of the time that you use a turn signal is when you are either stopped at a traffic light or slowing down to turn.

Ford had sound engineers working on this Mustang from day one......and they wanted to capture the retro sounds as well as the retro styling (doors closing, turn signals, exhaust note, etc.). I grew up in the Muscle Car era, and so I recognize alot of these retro cues.......and they're all A-OK with me.
Yeah, exactly. The first thing I thought when I heard the turn signal is "this thing sounds like a '65 Galaxie!" It's not just the volume, it's the cheap "tink tink" sound it makes. I love it.
