I wish I would have kept all the stock stuff cause the dealer wont give you more money for a modded car they give you less. I got it as close to stock as I could and sold the aftermarket stuff at a huge loss.

it is around here in va beach. unless you have bought a few more expensive cars from them before. guess it keeps the young kids from coming in for a free joy ride.

They wouldnt let me test drive the boss I bought even though I had a certified check in my hand.

Weird. The Lexus dealer here offered to let us take a new rx350 home for a day to try out with just a drivers license lol. Of course I was with my parents helping them look at new cars which may have been a factor.

head on over to caviler or beach ford and see what they let you drive. Caviler had a GT500 with a 20k adm tacked on. I asked them to let me test drive it...they laughed at me and said no one drives it......

A gt500 is understandable for that treatment. But being 22 years old, if I pulled up to a Ford dealer with my 08 GT saying I'm interested in upgrading, I wonder if they'd let me test drive a 5.0. the salesman being with me of course. I look young for age too so they'd probably laugh at me too lol

It's sad to say, but I've found that how you are dressed matters as well. When I stop a dealership after work in my dress pants and dress shirt they are all over you vs. when I show up in jeans and a t-shirt. I'm 30 and while I don't you old, I don't really look young either. It's just how they perceive you And I can honestly say if I was in there shoes and someone showed up looking to just come in and test drive a boss out of nowhere I would also be skeptical in some instances. Unfortunately that's business for ya :-/

I find it's not the price of the car at all. Most dealerships don't have a GT500 Demo car, therefore any of the cars on the lot must be purchased *NEW* by customers. I would not want any test drive mileage on my new GT500.

The SVT dealership near me had a 2010 GT500 a couple years ago that was owned by the owner of the dealership...I was able to take that for a drive....boner the whole time I tell's ya!

SC 4.6 and stock 5.0. If you can afford new or a used GT500 go for it but 450rwhp for $3500 is nothing to scoff at.

No, just more challenging (I guess that reads more expensive) to get BIG power out of 'em. The 3v is still a good motor though

Sigh... my great aunt used to be the finance manager over at Cavalier back in the day.

Ghost post here.. but I was doing some research online about turbos for our 3V. I saw this post above on the twin turbos. I'd like to learn more on that from the person who posted or anyone who may have knowledge on this. Please PM me.

Thanks all!

I'm 23 (dressed nice: Jeans, polo, sperries, etc...) and went with my wife to look at a Boss. The guy let me drive it with just me and my wife. Then again, I was crawling underneath it before he came out looking for any abuse signs (tracking wear).

So, I probably looked the serious part... lol
... even though I have a baby face and next to no facial hair.

...later that day I did end up buying it. lol

Back to the topic though...
I loved the 05-09 Body style... But I love the 5.0 motor more...
If they had an '09 with a 5.0.... Oh man!

I went to a used car dealer a mile from UConn in Coventry CT and drove a 2009 M3 with 13,000 miles that was selling for $43K. No question about a test drive - the salesman was in the back seat and a friend was in the front seat. Who would buy a car in this price range or higher and not insist on driving it?

Me and a couple buddies from time to time actually go around lots seeing what we could test drive. We go looking decent enough (jeans, polo, some nice shoes or even slacks and a button up) and we rarely get turned down. Weve driven 5.0's,, a raptor, several bmw's and MB's, and believe it or not a porsche 911 carrera. Lots of fun lol

I wouldn't say worthless, worthless to who? I love my 06 Vert and wouldn't trade it in for a '10 or newer Mustang. I really like the styling of the rear and front. I looks retro and I think cooler than the newer ones. That's just my opinion. My GT is fast enough with the mods I've done so far, the only thing I have left to do that I want is FRPP cams and long tube headers. I don't need to SC or turbo since I really can't race it at the track unless I want to install a roll cage.

BTW if you keep trading up you'll never own a classic.
