Tune "fades" with time?

I know this has been discussed before, but I'm still not clear on it: How many of you felt like the tune "faded" or lost it's "punch" after driving awhile? I've read that some people experienced this, and that it was due to the computers ability to learn your driving style and adjust performance accordingly. Some people say they reload their tune once a week or so to regain the benefits. Any truth to any of that? My stang is my daily driver, mostly highway, so I don't often get a chance to drive it like I stole it. I don't want to get a tune only to have it feel sluggish again after a week. But I still want to eliminate the throttle lag when I do get the occasional chance to stomp on it.

Interesting, my experience has been exactly opposite. It seem to take 500 to 1000 miles for a tune to really set right. I'm currently using the 93 octane Race tune I got from Bamachips as my daily driver, mileage is good and it's wickedly fast.

Like Chuck said.
When you first get that new tune, you are amazed at what your car can do with just a little work, its like driving a whole new beast. After a couple weeks/months, you get used to the new tune and its not as fun anymore. Not because the tune started to suck, but because you dont get that same jolt of excitement every time you hit the gas

I disagree, I thought I was just "getting used to" my performance tune, so just for drill I reloaded it and SCHZAAAM ! it felt like the first time on the tune. My personal experience tells me it does fade after 4-6 months.

I feel like the same thing happens. Maybe Doug can chime in?

Just out of curiousity, what kind of milage do you get with a 93 octane race tune?

The factory calibration seems to withstand the test of time.

I've been wrestling with this same idea. I keep telling myself that it's all in my head, that I'm "getting used to" it, but I continue to feel renewed each time after reflashing. Sometimes i'll change my tune a half dozen times per week. I would love to hear some solid reasoning behind this theory, from real experts.

BTW, the morning commute seems to be the most sluggish. If I take the car out for a drive at lunch or after work, it seems to perform alot better. Dang I just hate things that I can't explain.

Re-tune your car to stock and take it for a drive right away. You'll notice how sluggish the car becomes.

I did that once last year in my car and hated driving it without the tune. It really was a nuisance to drive it that way.

I returned mine to stock recently to get ready for a long trip (2600 miles). Wanted to save some money on gas and use 87 octane. I was running the 93 octane Bamachips Performance Tune. I noticed stock is quieter with the CAI off, throttle response is slower, and doesn't pull as hard at WOT.

As for the question posed by this thread topic, no, I had not noticed any fade in performance of my tune.

Has Tillman or Bama either commented on this question. I would like to know the answer...Because the answer on here seems still to be spit between both yes and no. Any factual figures?
