A familiar situation when you turn on the gearbox speed to cold or hot and the car does not gain momentum, does not move well uphill, or go at all, neither back nor forward. If a car with an automatic transmission starts up but does not drive, this may be due to both its mechanical malfunctions and malfunctions in the electronics. I would take my car to the workshop.
Guys, what do you know about this service SPAM DELETED POST? We urgently need to order an essay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PROBLEM IDENTIFIED..

If anyone is still looking for the specific problem, it is failure of the overdrive sprag one way bearing.. it can be fixed without a complete rebuild but the tranny will have to be pulled and you will need a trans pump puller to get the trans pump off, I would drain and replace the fluid and filter while I had the tranny out and a reman. torque converter is around $150 if you have the budget and you are doing it yourself I would replace it also while the tranny is out because they are prone to fail.. especially if you have excessive metal shavings in the fluid.. the whole job can be done in a weekend as long as you have everything you need before you start, such as the trans pump gasket. The fluid and filter, and the overdrive sprag bearings and planetary gears ( or replacement overdrive sprag..)
just search a few YouTube videos of a 5r55s teardown.. they are the same in a lot of rangers, explorers, and mustangs..
this should fix the problem if you have 1,2, and 3 manual gears working properly, but no movement or barely any movement in overdrive or reverse...

Thank you for providing very valuable info regarding the overdrive sprag bearing. I'm certain it will be helpful for anyone who's going through the same issues with their tranny failure issues. Meanwhile, welcome aboard

Did you bother to read the posts submitted by BigBeeBaby? He identified the issue was the overdrive sprag, one-way bearing which caused the tranny failures.. He also clearly stated that he was able to resolve the tranny issues without the need for having to do a complete rebuild, but rather replace just the sprag bearing!

Similar issues but I have full reverse

So I’ve been searching far and wide for answers, I have a 5r55s in an off-road race truck that I’m building and have been directed to this forum for some answers. It seems that it is stuck in limp mode and I cannot get it to function correctly.
It appears that I cannot grab manual law, and it stays in second and barely goes forward. Attached is a list of solenoids and what they’re doing.
Any help would be appreciated. This is quite frustrating.

Solinoid b

So I have spent some time going through wiring, checking pin outs etc
It seems that the solenoids a, c and d are functional but solenoid b never shuts off.
I have connected to a different pack , cleared the KAM and re scanned everything, for some reason it never shuts off.
There is 12v coming from the pack to the pcm , and even when I close the circuit manually by grounding it , I hear it shut off , but the scanner never sees it .

I’m starting to think that the pcm is defective.
It is a custom tune , and worked before I bought this set up from a friend who wrecked his truck.

So I’m going to try replacing the DTR ( another item that gave me issues and replace multiple times due to throwing codes for that) and see if it is the culprit.
If that is not it , I’m at a loss .
Probably going to pull this out and convert to a c-4 trans .
