I had a guy from England email me out of the blue a couple of weeks ago saying that he was a manager at a local bank which had an account worth 14 billion british pounds from a guy who died 5 years ago and had no next of kin. He said he needed an outside source to send the money too so it wouldn't look fishy on his end since he worked there. I told the guy that he must really want to jail for stealing this money. He replied that no one was going to jail and the money would be sent to my bank account. I told him that I couldn't steal money from someone and even if I wanted to I wouldn't be stupid enough to give him my bank account number. Hello uneducated bum, do you really think I would give you information that would lead a trail to my house. Some of these scammers really need to think about what they are doing.....nevermind, they're idiots, that's why they are doing what they are doing

This isn't a new type of scam. It's been around for awhile. The fact you even thought it was possible should excite possible scammers and make the rest of us bang our heads in disbelief.

Yes, doing "detective work" is fun. So are Nigerian "advance fee" fraud scams.....of which this is one. Take it from a REAL detective who spent years working on these stupid frauds.....don't bother investigating any further, they'll just spam you to death or worse yet, send you a nice virus. They are very, very computer literate, despite their ridiculous attempts at writing intelligently. So....drop it....and slap youself once in the face for even falling for the initial bait. That's how these guys stay in business.

Make up a fake credit card number (Name, 16 digit number, bank name and expiration date) and tell them to take the $3k from the card. They'll get excited initally till they figure they've been had.

I don't feel bad at all for initially considering it. There ARE people out there who sell things not knowing how much its worth, or just wanting so bad to get rid of it they'll take anything. Why do you think people find Hemi Cuda's in barns and buy them for $500?

I consider myself lucky, because I *KNEW* better than to immediately send money. But what if it had been true, and I immediately called him a scammer and went about my buisness? Then I'd be out of a Mustang. All it took to get to the bottom of this is a little research and opinions from multiple third parties (y'all!)

ebay motors has been full of scammed mustang listings lately...lots are fake just tryin to get ur money..i found an 03 cobra for like 9500.....way too good to be true...dont fall for it
