Hey 2MustangJohn, thanks for all the info.
Could you please confirm how many cars would be built on a normal day at AAI? Also if you could tell how many will be stangs and how many mazdas?
I read somewhere that already 50000 mustangs are on pre-order, I need to calculate approxiamtely how much time will it take for mine if I order today.
Thanks in advance

Hey guys, just a note before i head of to the grind, normally we should build about 600 per shift, but we are having teething problems, i.e. parts shortages, breakdowns, etc. Until we get going real good (late Sept., Oct.), we're really not doing more than about 600-700 per day if i remember rt. I'll try and post some pics tonite or in the morning(btw, that means after midnite till about 10 a.m.)of some that have made it out of the plant that they haven't stashed away yet. Laters, Y'all

Is there any truth to blueovalnews report of defective 4.6L or 5.4L engines?
Seeing how you work on the line, maybe you can fill us in on situation, and if this report is just a bunch of hot air?
"Sources at one of Ford's engine plants told BlueOvalNews that Ford Motor Company has instructed assembly plants to stop shipping certain 2005 model year vehicles because they can contain defective 4.6L or 5.4L engines."
"The products that can contain the defective engines include the 2005 Ford Mustang GT, 2005 F-Series, 2005 F-Series Super Duty, Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. Ford has instructed the assembly plants to stop shipping vehicles until they are screened to see if they contain the defective engines. It is not known if any products were shipped to consumers before the problem was noticed."

Kembond & Brad,
Thanks for the article and pics, saved me a trip. So my next question is..... If they delivery my new stang and it has the orange peel, do I refuse it? Can I refuse it? Or is it something that I just have to deel with?

with regards to orange peel,
every car built has it to a certain degree
There are so many parts that are not painted at the plant, paint standards may actually call for a certain amount of orange peel. You will not get a glass-smooth paint job from any mass produced car.
If the orange peel is extremely excessive or patchy, ie non-uniform gloss, I am sure you can make the dealer finesse those areas.
I would definitely refuse delivery if the car was scratched, dinged, had runs in the paint, dry spray, etc. It is a good idea to carefully look the car over before you sign on the dotted line.
