Tire Swap Cost

Anybody swap out there new 235's for 255's? My dealer quoted me a price of $300 to swap the tires when my 2007 comes in. What is everyone paying for this kind of swap?

Thanks

(18" and new tires will be same brand as stock btw)

I never got a price from my dealer, when I originally menitoned it, sounded like they woulda charged me full retail price for the new tires, no credit for the originals. So I called Discount Tire, and they've got a set of 255/45 18's on the way, and will give me $50 a tire trade in. So I'm still paying $600 for the new tires. If they'll let you upgrade for $300, do it! In fact, can I bring my tires to your dealer and get the update? :-)

For that kind of money, just use the tires and get new ones when they wear out. It's only 2 cm wider. The difference is definately not worth the options you guys are talking about.

The 255 Goodriches look a whole lot better than the P-Zeros.
(255x50x17) TDKW has a 10.4" section width and the stock P-Zeros (235x55x17) have a 9.2" section width. according to the Tirerack web site. Both fit well on the stock 8" factory 17" wheels

BF Goodrich KDW IIs look WAY better than the stock tires. That 2 cm may not seem like much, but it makes a significant difference to the car's overall look and stance >>

$300 is definitely a good price... and the extra width (as well as the BFGs being a better performance tire) make a huge difference.

I would take that deal in a heartbeat!

When I put 255s on mine, I had to shell out $800 (granted, I bought 18s and not 17s).

Mine were $630 with tax, they gave me $50 each for my 18" G-Force KDW S's (stock on the 18" wheels). They look sooooooooo much better with the new tread pattern. And aren't as slippery on these Vegas ice-rink roads. Still spin nicely though.
