I'm finally at the point on replacing my tires on my '05. Ya, ya...I didn't burn through the first set in a week.
Anybody have any recommendations on tire manufacturer?
I've been eying a flat replacement tire, the Pirelli PZero Nero M&S ($84/ea @ Tire Rack) or Goodyear Eagle GT ($149.88/pair @ Sam's Club). I'm not looking to spend a lot, either.

What Sam's Club are you getting that price at? Are those the Eagle GT All Seasons?
I see $149.88 each. I swear I checked the price two weeks ago and thought they were $128 then.
I have GoodYear Eagle GT's on my current fox....my last one I was running Nitto 555's....they're more expensive, but overall better grip and wear.
But, for overall price, I would go with the Eagle GT's...good value, and they are wearing pretty decent.

Too bad ya dont live by me, Id hook ya up. The GT's cost me about 121 a tire. Its a newer design by Goodyear within the last 6 months. I am pretty impressed with it actually. They had us doing a ride n drive on a closed course a few weeks ago, they performed well.
Small rebates coming up Nov 29th. But its only 20 bucks on the set, or 40 if you pay by Goodyear credit card.
Its funny tho, on all the tire brochure and advert stuff for the Eagle GT they have the S197 mustang on it.

I'm glad to see Goodyear redesigned the Eagle GT line. The older ones were some of the worst tires I've owned (bought in 1998-99). Mediocre handling, not great in the dry or wet or cold, the only "good" thing I could say about them was that they lasted forever. I took them off the car (not a Mustang) with 35-40k miles on them and they still had half of the lousy tread left. I let my tire installer keep them, he sold them to a friend of mine who put more miles on them.
Yeah, I guess my expectations were a little too high, since Goodyear was marketing it as any kind of performance tire (didn't know nearly as much about tires 10 years ago). My Goodyear GT's were on a 4 cyl economy car too, but mine made around 165 hp, it was a DOHC Dodge Neon with a few modifications. IIRC the stock tires were Goodyear RSA's or something like that, and they were nothing special either. Probably explains why I haven't bought any Goodyear tires in the last 8-9 years.
Gotcha. Im a fanboy, after all working for the company for 18 years will do that to ya. But we do sell all brands, at least our store. The RS-A is a pretty good tire imo, just over priced. Alot of squad cars run them. I dont sell that many of them tho thats for sure.
