If your willing to pay MSRP you should have no problem getting a car. Its the guys who "want a car for invoice and then wonder why the dealer didn't come thru" who crack me up. Yea these dealers are here to just make YOU happy. They have a hot car and they can easily sell at MSRP so why would'nt they? Even if there is a dealer say 400 miles away you might get them to split shipping charges with you as long as your willing to pay MSRP.

If you still want the car you can email every Ford dealer within a hundred mile radius and make your deal without leaving the house. When they quote you a price online that's agreeable, print the email and bring it with you.

Rich, what happened to you rots. I totally understand why you cancelled. If you are still interested in a 2005 GT, post your specs, I am sure that members on this forum will check out their local dealers to see if a similar car is sitting on a lot. I know that there are several GT's sitting on the dealers lot near me. I wish you the best.

I'm on vacation in Florida and stopped at Galloway Ford in Ft Myers. They have a ton of V6's, must have been 20 there, every color and some with nice wheels, pinstriped etc. They just got 3 GT'S off the truck today, not sure the colors, one was sold. As well as 3 or 4 Saleens. The number is 239 936-2193.

Not ALL the orders were only because of pricing. I was willing to pay MSRP. Problem is, no one had the car I wanted. I was willing to take a plane if I had to.

I'm also sorry to hear this news, I don't understand how Ford build any verts with outstanding November orders.

 

First....if a dealer agrees to order you a car, then it shouldn't matter what price you paid. You cmoe to an agreement. They order the car. You agree to buy it for the agreed upon price. What difference does it make the price you paid vs the amount of time an order takes?

What we're seeing....dealers realize they can sell stock cars for more profit than someone who ordered for a discount. Then why does the dealer agree to order the car in the first place? Why not tell the customer...."we'll only order a car for you with a high priority number if you pay more for it". I may not like their terms and am free to walk away from the deal based on those terms, but at least I know up front what the terms are.

This waiting 3-4 months for a car is just ridiculous. Now, after you've waited (when you could have found another more customer focused dealer), you have to start the process all over again. That's just poor customer service on the dealer's end.

 

Entering week 14, still C/U :bang: , I really dont think pricing has anything to do with getting the car built..........this whole thing is getting ridiculous, making the customer suffer for what a dealer sells or doesn't sell in prior years is stupid, they should just build these cars in the order they recieved the order from the dealer, the worst thing in this whole thing is when i see someone get serialized and they ordered a month after me and it is the exact same car...not good FORD :notnice:

 

 

It is not always Ford. Keep in mind some of these issues are from dealers. Also keep in mind that Ford plans to build 139,000 Mustangs that's it no more so wer are dealing with a product in high demand and a small volume. It stinks it really stinks but its the realty.

I know your pain, I ordered a V6 back on 11/15/04 and agreed to pay MSRP and it's STILL not here! I called the number mention before and it's point blank a waste of time. They say to call the dealer, the dealer says to call them. Yes dealers are screwing the problem with getting in cars just to sit on the lot to make money, but Ford needs to weed out the "fake" customer orders by calling the customers individually and making sure the deals are legit. A few people here have already been called for that reason and that needs to be done on a regular basis with such a huge mess as this! They knew they were going to have a hit on their hands with this car so they needed to give the Stang it's own plant to be manufactured at! Come on Ford get the head out of the preverbial rear and lets go! Is that the sound of the new Dodge Charger and soon to be followed by Chevy Camaro I hear coming? You would think you ordered a Rolls-Royce at this point!

 

That exact car sold off a local showroom floor here in CA a few months back for, the dealer claims, $4k over MSRP. Sorry the wait got the best of you. I'm still C/U after almost 8 weeks and am being told to expect May, June or even July delivery at this point!

I know your pain, I ordered on Oct 11 and recieved my V6 Redfire Premuim 05 on Feb 17 " 4 months!!!" later :bang: The Dealer said the "IUP issue and re-inspection of wiring were the reasons mine was delayed. Still way to long to wait for a car with just Med Parchment leather and rear spoiler options and IUP Lite.
