Steffers - why all the refinish work?

 

I wanted custom paint..and there were some small dings so since I was getting the body kit put on we went ahead and painted it too

 

It's still black, right? Is there a metallic or something in it now? Just extra clear and no orange peel?

 

Just black and added some sliver and blue.. Can't see it unless shes super clean .., he put tons of clear on her. I wish we would've done the new ford black paint. Orange peel?

 

Look at factory paint, especially on a GM product, and you'll see what orange peel is. Looks like a patterned texture in the clear. Applying extra clear and wetsanding gets rid of it, so it's probably not on your car.

Edit: Look on the decklid to the right of the license pocket, see how the reflection isn't crystal clear? That's orange peel which distorts the image. VERY common, but a lot of show cars spend hours wetsanding to get rid of it.
