All in all I am very please with what we did get for the price point they mentioned from the start. MSRP that is, I know that the dealerships will have a hand in it as well.

Can't seem to find this info (of course I could be going blind with all the info I'm digesting), but are the alloy wheels on the GT500 cast or forged?
They LOOK forged, which of course means nothing...

I wasn't taking a shot at HTT, I was just saying I didn't necessarily agree with Andy's statement that he had "kept his promise."
When the GT came out, we were promised an IRS on the SVT.
Then we were told that the concept was 99% (or 95%, it doesn't really matter they are close enough). Since then they changed: the supercharger, the wheel size, the front splitter, the hood, the Shelby lettering, interior appointments (I think that's it). So while is close, it's different.
I am not trying to say I don't like the car. I think it's great.
I just personally felt the concept was amazing.
To be honest, I was still suprised by some of the features they kept.
Like I said, I am very happy, just not so blinded with joy that I am forgetful (not that any of you are). I can't wait to see the write ups!
P.S. I am really digging the gauges.

Color reply... someone mentioned that they might offer more colors for the 08 Shelby and since I haven't heard anyone say they will do a Shelby Mustang for 08 models for sure, I'm not taking the chance and waiting for a preferred color like a Dark Green. Since I'm #2 on my dealer's waiting list only behind the owner, not giving it up! Worst case is a Green or Royal Maroon or Aqua color comes out next model year and I sell the 07 for the 08. lol
Also, I'm disappointed they did not use a 'SHELBY' wheel on the car instead of plucking if off the Ford GT. Hey Ford, Shelby is making his old style wheels new in 18" - 20" and why not check this option. We all can't complain too much as its 475HP!!! I also prefer to have the driving lights back in the grille ala 1967 and use the lower driving lights as brake cooling ducts. Has anyone seen or heard what name is coming on the front brake calipers? Will it be Brembo, SVT, Shelby, or something else?

I kinda have to argue with you on that one. While I am very impressed with the car, it's not what HTT "promised" us.
He promised IRS, 99% of the concept car, and a BMW M-esque type of performance.
I see the power and I love it. I am a big fan of the looks (save for the hood, and the blank spot opposite of the Shelby on the back, I still think it should say GT500). Handling wise, we will see, but BMW-M...I am not holding my breath considering weight and suspension (I am NOT starting a weight/IRS arguement).
However, I don't think this is the car he promised.
Happy, yes...forgetful, no.
P.S. I especially like the car in white with vista blue stripes!

We all know of the fierce competition provided by the BMW M3, and several people point to the fact that the Ford was allowed a more highly modified motor. However, with the restrictor plate now mandated for that motor in place it is unlikely that the Mustang has more than a 75-80hp advantage on the M3. While this isn't a tiny difference it isn't huge either. Consider that a production C5 Z06 could barely outrun the production version of the same generation BMW M3 that the GAC Mustang beat on the track and the picture gets clearer.
Also note that, in production trim, the C5 Z06 had about a 75-80hp advantage (and an even larger torque advantage) over the M3 compared with the M3-Mustang G.A.C. hp comparo. Some might want to argue that there is a large difference between race cars and street cars, but this isn't really accurate when talking about G.A.C.. I don't expect the GT500 to be quite as sharp as the M3, but given the huge hp and torque advantage just getting very close will deliver an unbelievable peformance car.

FR500C a Ballasted 3300 lbs they are capable of 3100 or below
GT500 ~3920
2005 M3 3415
2005 M5 4012

The M3 also gained 100lbs in GAC trim.
I would say that GT500 is going to be much closer to M5 performance than M3.
When the new M3 comes out in the '07 models it will have a 400-425hp V8 and since it is aluminum compared to the cast iron I6 of the current M3 the weight bias may become better. Making the M3 probably just as fast(more like a short tick slower) as the Shelby in straight line speed as well as blowing it away around a curve.

Is it too much to ask to read to read the first thing on the page that took you here?
It's even under the heading of "Important Topic."
Here's the page that brought you to the thread you are in now:

Let's try to digest your response to my request for the URL to the videos...
Let me say that the first link that you provide isn't a link to the videos... why not?
You claim it's a link to how I got to this thread. How it the heck could you know if I clicked a link on a particular page to get to this thread?
Again, I asked for a link to the videos and guess what, the second link that you provide isn't a link to the videos either...
What is the point of insinuating that I'm a dumb hiney? Why couldn't you just post links to the videos? Is it some kind of secret? Do I have to know the secret hand shake?
Here they are.

Now was that hard?
What now? I just clicked on the links above, the links that Brad posted, and they don't work. Is it too much to ask to want to view the videos? I just don't get it.

I Personally don't like the Shelby lettering placement. My 2 cents..not worth the added cost, but to each their own. The new Camaro looks nice especially with an LS2, IRS, and T56. I was out of town for a week and have lots to catch up on.

As far as the links to the video not working, I don't know. It's was impossible to get on the forums all day, and now that I have, some things aren't working (for example the videos, the links, and the pictures beneath them).
I downloaded the videos when they were first put up, but:
1. Brad is very strict/cautious about copyright infringement so I don't know if I have permission to host them, and
2. even if I did, I have no idea how to do it. Sorry.
If you want to continue any coversation (such as this) that isn't regarding the GT500, by all means, PM me. I don't want the link getting closed down just because we began to argue.
P.S. Edited for spelling.

On a side note, the C5 Z06 blows away an E46 M3 on the track. Not sure where you are getting your information from. Also, the FR500C isn't very close to the street versions. I saw one up close in person at a track event and it uses some production peices, but a lot are specific to the car.

If there are going to be over 9000.....there is no need for ANYONE to pay more than MSRP. There are a lot of people who want these, but there are also a lot who won't be able to afford them and are talknig about buying one of the first when they couldn't afford an '87 escort.
