no cutting on my new 05!! :nono: i had a sunroof in my bronco 2 and it was great for about 2-3 years until it started leaking and the only way to fix it was silicone yuuuk! t-tops alway leak too in a few years. :nono:

No need for sun roof. I had one on my 89 gt. Hated it. Tooooooooooo bright inside the car B) B)

There is one other downside to the aftermarket sunroofs some people may want to take into consideration. Many of the aftermarket sunroofs do not allow for a slide-away headliner to block out the sun when you park your car. This can be a major headache in warm climates such as AZ where I'm at. 107 and sunny outside, a big window in your roof = HOT HOT HOT

I thought about putting a heavy, dark 99% reflective sunblock on a pop-up...
The glass would have to be stored in the trunk similar to older RX7s
Strapped down in trunk with Velcro...
Looking at the dual contoured 20" x 32" (but its not on the 22" x 38")
Don't even know if the 22"x38" will fit in the trunk????
I'll have to try it before they cut that big of hole above my head...

thats the thing i liked about that grey XMP car was they cut out the roof. dont want to hack up a brand new car. but that would be an option i would like to see since t-tops nor sunroofs wont look right

Maybe Foose will haul my car away for the "Over-haulin" TV show and put a Targa Top on it.....ya right. That is like FORD giving us prices. I guess I dream alot.
Anyway, I had a Sunroof on my 1990 LX (don't laugh, it was a 5.0l, 5 spd standard.) I would never get another stang with a sunroof. They just don't look right and the pop-up style ones are pointless. They just let more heat into the car. Hot leather seats is not a good thing in the summer for my hiney!

IMHO, I think you can only get a sunroof on the new stang if it was available from factory due to the curve in the roof. You gotta remember that factory sunroofs are NOT the same as aftermarket. Unless a manufacturer designs a pop-up sunroof to fit the new stang you are out of luck.

No navigation, no heated seats, no heated mirrors, no engine cover, is one thing. Maybe they aren't expected to be big ticket items. But no sunroof is another. Thats just cheapy to not even offer it. I don't want a convertible. They are too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. When do you even get to use them comfortably? (70-80 deg and 0 humidity), maybe 4 months out of the year? They are heavier, and less rigid, so there goes the whole POINT of having a performance car. Nah, I'd much rather take my chances with a sunroof leaking in 5 years, than deal with a convertible.

I would probably use a convertible 10 months out of a year, I am not planning on racing it, it will be my daily driver, so the added weight is not a big deal to me.
