Question Stupid Shaker 500 question ...

Where are all 8 of the speakers located in our cars with the Shaker 500???

I definitely have the Shaker 500 head unit, and I see the two speakers on each door (making 4 total so far), and NOTHING in the back??? Did I get ripped off??

I thought there were only 6 speakers with the 500 shaker......and 8 with the 1000 (dual speaker sub in trunk). Not sure though, but this is what I count.

Ford is counting 3 speakers in each door (the large woofer in the lower part and both a midrange and tweeter in the upper section) and the 2 in the rear shelf.

barjon is correct, You cant see them but they are in there look underneth the rear shelf, either crawl into the trunk from the rear or open the seats and poke your head up there thats where you will see the speakers

The obvious ones are the Subwoofers in the front doors.
Above those you have 3 way speakers in each door
2 more speakers on the rear parcel shelf behind the headrests if it's a Coupe, otherwise they're below the rear quarter panel windows

the Shaker 1000 has 2x8" subs in one enclosure in the trunk

to me these are 4 speakers and 2 subs

The Shaker 500 door sub gets in the way of my foot when I am trying to exit the vehicle, but overall it sounds excellent for a factory audio system. I never realized there were tweeters in the upper door speakers because the high notes don't sound all that clear

Turn up the treble setting, it will sound much better. I have the treble set all the way up, sounds very good.

Pop your trunk and look right under the rear panel with the child seat anchors. You should see 2 speakers.

Why would Ford install speakers inside the trunk, wouldn't that muffle the sound?

Ford has been doing that for at least 26 years. The speaker cone faces the interior cabin through grilles in the rear deck, but the magnet and wiring harness is actually accessed through the trunk.

They eliminated the rear speaker grills on the 07s. The speakers are under the fabric. Look in the trunk and you'll see the other two speakers facing up toward to rear window.

Yep, you can see the 2007 rear speaker in my photograph... The finest Chinese 25W/4ohm speakers that Ford could buy.

What happened? Can you get it replaced under warranty?

I wish the OEMs used bottom mount rear speakers so it is easier to swap out without tearing apart the interior.

What volume setting do you normally use?

What do you mean? As your picture shows, they are bottom mount. I haven't really looked at them, but shouldn't they just drop down .
