Well gang, not sure if we had this figured out for sure if the SVT Cobra was going to happen on the S197, but here's some info right off the SVT Ford site...here's a little from the main article...

"PowerLease gives customers the opportunity to drive a new 2004 Mustang Cobra or F-150 Lightning on a short-term lease that will expire when the next-generation vehicles are launched. What's more, PowerLease includes a transferable priority option to lease or buy a next-generation 2006 SVT F-150 Lightning or 2007 SVT Mustang Cobra when they enter production (currently scheduled for late 2005 and mid-2006, respectively).

Here's the link...

I want something that is new-new (design and all). I figure if the '07 Cobra is awsome enough... I can trade up.
I'm probably one of the few that could care less about a SuperCharger, IRS & 18" wheels (I prefer N.A.). Besides, @ 40k+ -I rather opt for a Vette Targa.

So this is the 54012840124th confirmation from Ford that the Cobra will be 2007MY released in 2006. Done and done, been there, done that, or dare i say...

And if this topic starts debating engine HP rating, tires, etc, you can kiss this baby....

I think the power lease is a terrible idea. Most people wanting the 2007 Cobra, already own one, and a fair amount of these people have their cars paid off, or nearly paid off. With that said, why on earth would I want to spend $488 a month to have a car on lease that you legally shouldn't be modifying, just to get first in line for the 2007?

Newsflash. All who want a 2007 Cobra will get a 2007 cobra at sticker or better unless you are foolish. There will not be a shortage of these cars. Look how many 2003's were available after the gold rush...

Now the Shelby Roadster or Cobra R, now that's a different story. I'll be pimping hard to get one of those by saving my $488 a month in lease payments by driving around my Paid in Full Cobra until the day comes.

The sales manager at the Ford dealer in Southern California where the Pony Drive II event was held a couple of months back announced that power lease offer to the '05 crowd. At the time they had over 20 new Cobras in inventory, and needless to say, he didn't get much of a reaction from the audience.

So we should let the same thing be posted over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over??????? I think not.

This thread is pointless and should be locked. If scootr had taken twenty seconds to go up the top to search and typed in "07 cobra" or any variant thereof, here are the results:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?ac...ghlite=07+cobra

Nothing ticks me off more than the same threads over and over.

The welcome to last week smilie is too generous. It should be 'welcome to four months ago'

All I am saying is that mods cannot be here all the time, and sometimes it requires people that are not mods to watch over the forum. Some of the people that post in threads like this are the most knowledgable on the forum. Just because they want the thread closed doesn't mean they are being down on the person, just that the thread is unnecessary. Simply putting a doesn't hurt anyone.

There aren't any mods around right now. Thats why people make posts like that.

The post you just made is much, much worse than any post I have ever made on these boards, I don't attack people straight out, just their posts. You are attacking me why? Because I support someone trying to help the forum? Does that make sense? Do you see the FAQ sticky on top of the forum? The one that says "search before posting a new thread"? That gives me, dustin, icw, and anyone else that wants to do it the right to post a , because obviously the poster didn't do as the thread asked.

And further, icw only said that we already knew this and it wasn't any new news. He said "if this turns to talk about HP, etc, then " he didn't just say "Yeah lock this now!!!!!1"

Once again... some of you guys have your underwear wound too tight.

First off... all the mods find it annoying when people keep shoving in threads as if they are the smartest people on this site. There are noobs here, so they posted a topic that was already discussed, BIG DEAL. If you don't keep posting in it complaining about it, it will go away, or a mod will deal with it in time. If you read the topic title and it is old news LEAVE IT ALONE.

Its good that some members here are dilligent in pointing out old news, but at the same time they should do so in a patient and friendly way to any new members. Maybe some people aren't as computer literate as some of us, no reason to be hostile.

The gist of this topic will be added to the FAQ thread.

I hope some people can take a deep breath and relax...
