I always get a kick out of the "Cold Air" debate when it comes to CAI's....Ummmm just where am "I" supposed to get cold air from

 

When you're driving in the rain as long as you're driving at a safe speed and allowed more room between your car and the ones on front of you you should be fine. If you're drving the same way in the rain that you do in dry weather you're asking for trouble.

Here in CA lots of people seem to drive faster in the rain and seem to follow other cars too close. and what happens???
People get involved in more accidents on rainy days and lots of them are single car accidents where someone loses control and either slams into the concrete center divider or goes off the side of the road.

I'll bet that you could spend $500 or $1000 per tire for safe handling in bad weather, but if you don't slow down it's not going to help you if someone spins out in front of you or slams on their brakes and you're too close to stop safely.

SixtySix, you should get a hose to run from your AC to your intake... That should help with your AC on all the time.

 

first i am not coming off like a jerk i just thought this info might help you understand me and my driving style.. 1. i have alot of driving experiance, i drive everyday at my job.. also i always leave as much room as possible.. except the jerks like to use that space in front of you ... 2. i have always driven high performance cars... worked at a bodyshop that catered to cars like porsche, lambo, ect ... also i owned alot of muscle cars... also i have 400+ hp 66 mustang...also i have driven in every weather condition possible..now with that being said yes you can`t control what`s going to happen, or know what`s going to happen but i know enough to know when it`s me or the car...and this time around it is the tires on the car...

 

The only reason I posted what I did about tires is that many people here havn't had any problems driving in the rain with the Pirellis the Mustangs came with.
So since people have reported no problems I assumed (and it appears I was wrong, and for that I apologize) that it was driver related.
When I posted my first message I had no information on your driving style or leval of experiance, or that you drove daily at work.

You have to admit that we have people on the roads that drive like idiots every day, and those are the people we have to be on the lookout for when we're driving.

As for driving experiance and ability, I've been driving for 25 years, 20 of those working on an ambulance driving and attending, so I know what happens here in CA when it rains...we're alot busier responding to traffic accidents usually caused by unsafe speeds and following to close.

In your case, if you consider your tires unsafe once you replace them let us all know what kind of tires and how they handle in the rain...if they work better then stock then some people here will probably change the tires on their cars too.

What's rain?

 

I haven't had any problems with the stock tires in the rain (yet). Aside from a few "isolated incidents," I've been pretty conservative in my driving.

However, I would like to get sneakers with a little wider grip. I figure I can wait until I wear these tires out. No need to spend money on switching tires just yet; it's not a high priority for me. I'm just getting used to driving a RWD car again. I do think the car would look a little nicer with wider tires all around. As I said, I'll trade up once I wear these tires down a bit.

When it's time for new rubber, I'll consult these boards to see what y'all think is the best approach. Nothing better than checking with people that drive the same car!

 

Here's some suggestions for ya

17x8 Rims - 255-50 within a pubic hair of the stock diameter
17x9 Rims - 275-50 some will say it's cool to put this size on stock rims, but I wouldn't, step up to a 17x9 for this one.

18 inch rims - Look at Adrenalins Car and his tire sizes

19+ Go for it, not for me though

 

i might just go with the saleen rims...well see..

i`m gonna make some phone calls and see if i can get you arizona folk a month worth of rain....

 

FYI ---Some where around the 3rd or 4th page of reviews it was noted that they are not the same tires that the 05 Mustang has, not saying thats good or bad, but the reviews may not mean anything for us.

 

Got mine in early November and I live just north of Seattle so I get a bit of rain

The tires work very well in the rain IMHO.
