Funny you should mention it. Last night I thought my auto shifter had a very strange feel to it all of a sudden, almost difficult to move from Drive to Park.

Geezus. Lately, it seems all I'm reading on this board are problems...problems...PROBLEMS.

Clearly Ford is incapable of addressing its long-standing quality control issues. I'm DEFINITELY waiting til at least '06 now.

God, with Ford's history I was SO afraid this was gonna happen. I hate it when my import-driving friends say: "We told you so!"

There can be exceptionally good ones and the occasional total lemon in any make or model vehicle. I know someone with an '03 Mercedes that has spent more time with it's repair shop technicians than with it's owner.

Although I normally live by the "never buy a first year new model" rule, I decided with my heart to buy my 2005, and I have no regrets. Besides, I wanted the fun of having the first '05 many people see in person for the first time....and it's a lot of fun!

I have purchased enough new cars to know that many have some minor issues that can either be taken care of by the dealer or will go away by themselves in time.

My first new Ford was a 1988 Thunderbird. During the first several months it had quite a few annoyances, but I loved that car. I kept it for 9 years and got 100,000 good miles out of it!

Make sure you fully push the button in on the shifter before you change gears.
I thought the same untill I noticed I wasn't pushing the button in all the way.

Robert, you really need to relax. Your reading about problems that are almost exclusively minor. If you think new model year launches are smooth for imports you're crazy. We don't know if everyone has a legit complaint, or if the vehicles are still going through a breaking in phase. This is an enthusiast board where most of us are very particular about our vehicles. The average person probably wouldn't notice the majority of issues raised here. Go to any other enthusiast forum and you'll find the same complaints on new model year cars. I'm not saying that we should be happy with it, but the problems with new model year launches extend far beyond Ford to include imports as well. What will be important is how Ford responds to the issues we bring up.

You're right, Bobby. Even I feel sad when I've reached my destination.
