Gus, I gotta ask and maybe anyone can ask, where are the power gains with the tube (new or black plastic) if you don't need a upgrade in the tune? Isn't the gain from the increase in the airflow? Wouldn't this require a new to due to it leaning out?
Sorry for the 20 questions but just go a CAI from steeda and stayed with the stock tube...so just concerned thats all.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure you will if I am), but I believe the reason you need a tune when you upgrade the intake is because you have a different size MAF assembly, so you have more air coming through the MAF sensor than expected. They call it unmetered air. The elbow is after the MAF sensor, so the increase in airflow doesn't affect the MAF sensor readings. It's already expecting a high velocity of air. It's just traveling a bit smoother now.

+1. Also, if you review the Steeda stuff on their site, its says

"No additional tune is needed for this kit if you are already using a Steeda cold air with SCT or Diablo tuning package and installation is quick
and simple"...
