So today I called the number which we do not speak of (sorry, I like the Village) & the machine said the there was no information found on my order @ this time. It has been like this for 3 days now. The previous 3 weeks I have been C/U. I'm kinda worried what this means, why wouldn't it be able to find the order? Anyone else have this prob?

Make sure it is understanding you correctly.

My order # is 6068 and it thinks I say c068 all the time.

It says order number, not alpha numeric order number. So it should be obvious there are no letters in the order NUMBER.

Call your dealership and ask for status. Make sure you confirm everything on the number as it tends to hear any number you didn’t say.

I called this "number we do not speak of" my question is, is it all automated because i think at one point it said they were directing me to someone and i hung up. Or is there a specific number you hit to get an automated answer?

If you mess up three times you get an analyst. I’ve never spoken to this person, I always hang up.

Yeah, I've seen 100 year old war vets w/ better hearing than that automated system. I've never actually talked to an analyst either. I've been tempted to but I don't know how convincing a salesman I could be.

I'm sure that I entered in the correct numbers though because it asks you if this is correct. Still not sure what to do.

Ask for a new DORA, maybe the order number changed some how? Or ask your dealer for status. Not much you can do.

Yes, the voice activated system is not the best at understanding human speech. Make sure you're not too close to the receiver and it seems to work better for me.

Why not give the option to "key" the information into the system?

Anyway, I did talk to an analyst. They ask you for all the same information as the voice prompts, only in addition ask you for your name. You may have to impersonate someone at that point : )

Why impersonate? Just tell 'em your name, and if they have a problem with it, then tell them too bad. You are saving your dealership time and money by calling yourself to keep up with status.

There are letters in a vehicle identification number, its not the vehicle identification alphanumeric number.

Good point but, if you don't know a VIN contains numbers you should be driving a car. Note that a VIN’s important numbers are NUMBERS at the end. The letters are usually distributor codes and regional codes.

Well, just saying and its not just VINs, most serial numbers, model numbers, driver's license number, ect. are actually an alphanumeric number.

It was hard enough to say you were right. Leave me be!

Just kidding, you are right but I would immediately think an order number would contain only numbers as it's counting up from the last one. When you get involved in alpha numeric order numbers it could become very weird.
