Auction has ended but I don't think it sold. I think this would be a great project if you have the money

"For local pick-up only with your own trailer." Oh, I was going to pick it off the lot and drive it home...Other then the nonexistent wheels I see no problem with that!

Why can't you build it into a street car?

I think when it is sold as a body-in-white there is no VIN number on it, so you can't register it.

I know a guy that created his own car from the ground up, basically invented the car, it was a very strange car though(the driver sat in the back seat for one), but he drove it around on city streets. Maybe he made up its own VIN, not sure on that though.

I can't find much online, but I'm sure your local DMV can tell you how/if you can get a vin for a car you make.

Probably best to look at how Kit Cars get VIN numbers assigned.

I don't know if you can register a car that you get the shell as the body-in-white. There could be legal reasons why, not sure.

You could build it into a street car, but it would have a custom VIN like a scratch built street rod, and not a Ford assigned VIN.

Actually that clears it up a bit, a normal person can't buy one of these, you actually have to be a race team to buy it.

It looks the exact same as the stock body, what's the difference?

And true on the first part, this thing started with the one on sale from e-bay.
