Wow 2 tranys in 25k miles..... you must drive you stang a hell of a lot harder than I do

Yeah, something tells me there might be a problem with the driver, not the tranny...

How would you drive it improperly and kill the 2nd gear synchros?

I believe 2nd gear synchros incur the most wear. That is what I have always heard. Probably from hard downshifts. I hope I never find out.

1st-2nd gear is the biggest gear ratio change, and the biggest rpm change. If you don't let the rpms come down before shifting, it will be harder on the syncros. Still, shouldn't wear out before 100-150K miles though, unless your right foot only knows two speeds...on and off.
