yeah, it is a V6 w/ (in my opinion) a bad stripe job (stripes don't even go all the way down in the back) and some bad badging...

bleh, I say, bleh...

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Special Stampede Edition Mustang

The limited edition Stampede Mustang comes pre “Texas-ized.†Five hundred copies are available at Texas and Oklahoma Ford dealers. .

Texas and Oklahoma Ford dealers are offering an exclusive Mustang that’s sure to become a collector’s item. Only 500 of the special-edition Mustangs will be sold, authenticated with an engraved, numbered plaque.

“Mustang has a long tradition of offering special packages like the Twister and California Special,†says Mark Grueber, Ford marketing strategy manager for the Southwest region. “We have a special Texas Edition F-150 and Super Duty, and Mustang is such a part of the Texas landscape, we thought it would be a natural fit.â€

The Stampede Edition Mustang V-6 coupe builds on the Pony Package, featuring 17-inch, painted-aluminum wheels and a pony grille with integrated fog lamps. The Stampede adds wide, 9-inch silver racing stripes, exclusive Stampede badging (including a Stampede Edition gas cap), chrome pony spinner caps, chrome exhaust tips and a rear spoiler.

The Interior Upgrade Package adds the unique MyColor™ Instrument Panel Display, offering up to 125 color backgrounds at the touch of a button, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The standard Shaker 500 audio system features a six-disc CD player; a Shaker 1000 audio system is also available. The Interior Upgrade Package includes six-way power seats. Carpeted front floor mats carry unique brushed-chrome “Mustang†badging.

“A lot of customers are looking for something unique,†says Grueber. They want to “Texasize†their vehicles. The Stampede gives them the opportunity to own something unique.â€

All 500 Stampede Mustangs have been produced and are on their way to one of the roughly 300 Ford dealers in Oklahoma and Texas.
Same thing as the SDS, San Diego Special. I looked at the window sticker of one of those a while back and for the cheesy sticker stripes a couple of really ugly SDS badges on the side and a piece of paper that said 1 of 200 they tacked on $3,000. I think there is a saying about sucker's and the fact that they are born on a regular basis.

66stang351, what is this I hear about a sucker and the fact that they are born on a regular basis? I have not heard this before, but if you will tell me more about it I will gladly pay you $3,000 above the normal price of this kind of advice

Well they got to do something to sell all those V-6's out there. Most of the dealers around here still don't have but one or two GT's at a time and usually a dozen V-6's. They are marking em up still too. Its a nice looking car but not for the extra money they want.

I've seen these stripes on V6's at a dealership near my house. Didn't look like a SE to me

Ford is not the problem with cars not moving.

It is the darn greedy dealers that won't deal on the cars.

I can pretty much find any car you would want around here.
Why? because the dealer still have markups on them and they still will not let them go under msrp. You can stick all crap you want on these cars but they still will not sell because of dealer greed.

I agree, this is clearly a ploy to get the V-6 cars moving off the lots. I also agree, that if the dealers would simply make some deals on these cars they wouldn't have to create these SE's.
