Thanks guys for finding the proof that I WAS CORRECT on this issue !!
Talking about 8 different instrument clusters, have you figured out how many different front seats there are now ??
12 different V6 specific seats (3 colors in basic cloth & leather, with & w/o airbags)
12 different GT specific seats (per above)
2 Red Accent Package Seats, V6 or GT (w & w/o airbags)
That's 26 different front seat sets (more than double of '99-04) ... kind of makes 8 different instrument clusters sound pretty minor !!

I went and built a base Deluxe V6 on Ford.com, and you can get the base V6 Cloth (or Leather) seats with or without side air bags. The side air bag option DOES require that you add the IUP, but this alone does not affect your seat choice.
Just went back to check something else and there is one more V6 seat variation !! You can get the base V6 cloth seats with and without airbags (as I stated before) AND you can get the driver's seat with and without the 6-way Power Adjustment with Power Lumbar (21A) ... this increases the total seat variations (driver's side anyway) to 29 !!
However if you pick the V6 Leather option, the 6-Way Seat option is mandatory (could have been 3 more variations !!).
It is quite possible that the Ford web site is wrong ... I.E. it should be forcing other options on you when you select the side air bags, but as of today it is not !! So I stand corrected, it is not 26 seat variations but actually 29 !!
